SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED: Works under direct supervision of the Director of Golf Operation, and Assistant Professionals. IMPORTANT ROLES: The incumbent in this position must be able to serve in a variety of roles, including, but not limited to the critical roles outlined below: Team Member: Performs work in a team-based environment supporting the Golf Course mission and the goals, philosophies, and initiatives of the Director of Golf Operations. The individual performs work in a manner consistent with the Town’s Leadership Model, and its mission, vision, and objectives. Service Provider: Anticipates and meets the needs of peers, supervisors, and other Town employees by providing assistance in the completion of various tasks. Anticipates and meets the needs of citizens, guests, and vendors with regards to golf course issues. The individual displays professionalism, and commitment to and ownership in the organization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 1. Responsible for controlling the speed of play on the golf course, can ask any group to speed up their pace of play. 2. Enforce golf course rules of etiquette. 3. Responsible for starting the golfer from the first tee(s). 4. Verifies receipts of all players before teeing off. 5. Verifies correct starting time with customer. 6. Handles tee time booking procedures. Informs players of the following: appropriate tee markers to play from, marked yardage’s on golf course (i.e. 150's, sprinkler heads), cart requirements, speed of play policy and today’s current speed. 8. Enforces all course policy. 9. Conducts marketing surveys as required/needed. 10. Assists the public with their round of golf. 11. Helps golfers to locate lost golf balls. 12. Maintains excellent rapport with the public and staff. 13. Must always be courteous and friendly. 14. Must be able to gain respect from the public for proper enforcement of clubs/course rules. 15. Cleans and maintains restrooms on golf course daily. 16. Picks up litter and maintains trash cans. 17. Checks to see all golf holes have tee markers, flags and rakes. 18. Notifies maintenance department of any course related problem. 19. Supports and enforces the policies and procedures of the Breckenridge Golf Club. 20. Responsible for driving range operations including collection of balls, baskets, cleaning of balls, cleaning of ball washer, changing water club cleaning buckets, and rotation of tee markers. 21. Preparing, entering and maintaining necessary records and reports. 22. Performs work in a safe manner and has attention to safety in the workplace. 23. Attends required training. OTHER DUTIES: 1. Assist with outside services, carts, and clubs. 2. Assist in controlling rental equipment usage. 3. Performing related work and assisting others as necessary. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES • • • • • Knowledge of golf operations, etiquette and rules. Ability to handle difficult situations with tact, interact with the public in a positive and professional manner. Must be able to work safely at all times, participate in safety training courses, notify management of any safety concerns, and ability to recognize and notify management about any customer service issues that pose a safety risk. Able to maintain good relations with all Town departments, employees, co-workers and the public. Able to adapt to organizational and technological change. MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT USED EQUIPMENT: Position requires use of telephone and paging system, two way radio, driving a golf cart, hand tools, office supplies, cleaning supplies, golf ball washer, driving range ball picker. Work is subject to varying shifts. Work is performed outdoors in changing temperature and weather conditions. The work involves constant changes of sitting and standing either of which can be for a long period of time. Occasional lifting of heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) is required. Exposure to errant golf shots. • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends. • • • EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND FORMAL TRAINING • • • High school diploma or G.E.D. is required. College degree is preferred. Training and experience in customer service preferred (two or more years of direct customer service experience required). LICENSE OR CERTIFICATES CPR, AED Training, and First Aid recommended.
