28th January 2016
Dear Parents and Carers,
This morning at 8.20am we received communication of a similar nature to that received previously
on Tuesday 20th and 27th January 2016.
We immediately evacuated the academy site and informed the police. Following a thorough search
of our buildings and every classroom, the police gave us the all clear to re-enter our buildings and
resume lessons.
This was again part of a wider disruption to a number of schools locally, as reported by the local and
national press. Detective Inspector Colin Mattinson has reiterated that: “there is nothing to suggest
there is any credible threat to any of the schools.” (www.sandwell.gov.uk/news).
The safety and welfare of our young people is of paramount importance to me and I do not take the
decision to evacuate lightly. However, we will always do whatever is possible to minimise the
disruption to your child’s education at Bristnall.
I would like to thank those parents and carers who returned their children to the academy on
Tuesday and today when we reopened.
We will continue to update you via our website, Facebook and Twitter feed (@BHallAcademy) and
where we have access to the buildings via our text messaging service.
Further information about today’s incident is available on the Sandwell Local Authority website.
Thank you for your continued support.
Yours faithfully
Mr V. Green
Principal
