Moving PST files to online Archiving folder First you will need to open your PST file if you haven’t already done so. In Outlook 2010 you will need to click on the file tab at the top left corner, click Open, and click Open Outlook Data File: Browse to where the file is located and highlight it. If you moved your default location for the PST to be your H drive (as was recommended), you will need to click on the H drive from the options on the lefthand side under computer. Choose OK: Now you should see it show up on the left hand side under your inbox. Expand the PST file and select the folder you want to move: From here you can right-click on the folder and choose COPY FOLDER. This will bring up a menu where you can select your online archive folder: Now you will see the folder under your Online Archiving folder: NOTES: One thing that you will want to do before you delete any PST files is to check your email online to verify that you can see your folders in your online archive folder. If you see it on the web interface, then we have it on our servers and you can go ahead and delete your local PST files. https://mail.whitworth.edu/owa Also, if you are copying folders like “sent”, “deleted”, or “inbox” then outlook will rename them with a 1, 2, 3, and so on after the folder because it cannot have two folders with the same name. To prevent this from happening, you will need to actually highlight the individual emails that you want to move (Ctrl + A will select them all in the folder you are currently in) and copy them over to the folder in the online archive.
