Three Cincinnati State players receive WBCA All-America Team honors
Three members of the Cincinnati State Lady Surge were awarded All-America Team honors today by the
Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.
Among the players named to the 2012 WBCA Junior College Coaches’ All-America Team were Cincinnati
State sophomore Dominique Fischer, who was named as an All-American, and sophomores Kara
McLemore and Brittiney Latimer, who were named as honorable mentions.
The players were selected by a vote of the WBCA selection committee. The committee is comprised of
one representative from each of the nine geographical regions and a chairperson.
"It is great to be recognized for what we as players do on the court," Fischer said. "It has been a great
season. We just want to focus on capping it off with a long run in the postseason.”

Fischer, who earned 1 team All-Conference honors earlier in the week, currently leads the team in
scoring and in steals with 15.3 points and 3.5 steals per game.
McLemore, a sophomore from Dayton, Ohio, averages 11.3 points and 3.4 steals per game.
Latimer averages 9.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game coming off the bench.
Fischer, McLemore, Latimer have helped lead Cincinnati State to a program best 31-1 record and a
second consecutive trip the the National Junior College Athletic Association national tournament.
The Surge, who are a No.2 seed in the tournament, will face No. 15 seed Lackawanna College in the first
round of the tournament on Tuesday, March 20, in a game scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. The tournament
is being held at Illinois Central College in East Peoria, Illinois.
