Summerville DREAM (Downtown Restoration, Enhancement and Management) and the
Town of Summerville are proud to present Summerville's Red, White and Blue on the
Green at Gahagan Park (515 West Boundary Street, Summerville, SC). There will be
games, food, live music and an exciting fireworks display.
This will be a FREE event, FREE to participate, FREE to attend. We ask that you provide
your own game or activity and any items needed in your booth. You can rent a game,
create your own game or create an activity. Prizes for each child that participated in
your game would still need to be provided. There were approximately 1,500-2,000 kids
playing games last year.
Registration Deadline is Friday, June 30th at 12:00 p.m. – don’t delay!

Included in this packet you will find all of the information for participation at
Summerville’s Red, White and Blue on the Green for your review. The application can
be completed through the online form, or if you prefer save this as a pdf to be printed
and returned to the Summerville DREAM office via post, email, fax or personal
delivery. The office address is 218 S. Main Street, Summerville, SC 29483 (2nd floor

of events.

Last year we had approximately 8,000-10,000 children and adults in attendance! Your
participation is sure to help make this event one of the BEST INDEPENDENCE DAY
CELEBRATION IN SUMMERVILLE! This is a great way to share your organization or
business with a large audience of families in our community.

RULES AND REGULATIONS
DEADLINE for PARTICIPATION
The final deadline for inclusion in the 2017 Summerville’s Red, White and Blue on the
Green at Gahagan Park is Friday, June 30, 2017. Every participant must fulfill all
conditions herein, and submit the completed application to the Summerville DREAM
office by Friday, June 30 at 12:00 p.m.
GAME SPACE
Each game space will be approximately 10’ x 10’ (if your game needs a larger area
please let us know). All games will be located in one of the baseball fields at Gahagan
Park. You are responsible for providing tents, tables, chairs, adequate signage (don't
forget the sun screen) to advertise your business/organization and anything else that
you may need during the event. Please note that water and electricity are NOT
available in the games area. All tents/canopies must be staked down or
weighted down.
ASSIGNMENT AND USE BY OTHERS
Participant space is restricted to one participant per space and the participant may not
assign its space or permit to any other person, firm or organization to use any part of
such space without the express written permission of the hosting parties.
SETUP
Participant setup time is from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Setup will end at 5:00pm.
There will be a limited area for vehicles to pull up near the baseball field. No vehicles
will be allowed on the field. All items will have to be carried onto the field. We suggest
you bring a pull cart/wagon in order to make getting to your setup area easier.
DURATION OF THE EVENT
All games must be staffed from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. NO EXCEPTIONS! The game
area will close at 9pm and tear down can begin. Fireworks will begin shortly after.
PARKING
There will be one designated parking area for game sponsors and there are a limited
number of parking spaces. Games sponsors will be given a parking permit for ONE
vehicle. Additional vehicles will have to be moved to the general parking area.
BREAKDOWN AND CHECKOUT
The 2017 Summerville’s RWBG at Gahagan Park ends at the end of the fireworks show
which will begin at dark and last approximately 20 minutes. Games sponsors may begin
tearing down their set-up when the games area is officially closed. This will be
approximately 9pm. However vehicles will not be permitted in/near the games area
until after all event attendees have exited the games area, at the end of the event
(after the fireworks), to ensure the safety of all parties involved.
GAME SELECTIONS
Your game selections should be coordinated with the 2017 Summerville’s RWBG at
Gahagan Park’s committee to avoid duplication. Please refer to your Game Selection
Form for details. Games will be approved on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE basis. See
suggested games on following page.
PRIZES
You must provide prizes to each child that participates in your game. You need to have
a minimum of 1,500 prizes. Prizes in the past have included a piece of gum, piece of
candy, glider planes, yo-yo’s, small rings, tattoos, book marks, etc.
CLEAN UP
Each booth and station will be provided with one (1) garbage bag. Each booth is
responsible for removing their garbage. The garbage can be taken to the assigned
garbage location, exact location will be advised on the day of the event, or taken with
you. Failure to remove garbage can result in a group or organization not being allowed
to participate at future DREAM events.
