Any entries received after the entry deadline may not be published in the heat sheets sold on the day of the meet Meet Package – The only valid meet package is the most current version that can be found on www.swimming.ca Privacy: Cameras and recording devices will not be allowed on deck at any time during the meet without prior approval from the meet referee. Team Photographers must check in with the session referee prior to the start of the session and obtain a photographer pass and a wrist band prior to being on deck. Any questions, please contact the meet referee. Entry Procedure: Entries must be in Hy-tek format and submitted through www.swimming.ca. No entries will be accepted directly by meet manager. Entry Fees: Individual events: $9.00 (includes HST and Splash fee) Relay events : $ 11.00 Payment is due upon arrival. Please make cheque payable to “BYST” Eligibility: Entrants must be registered competitive swimmers with Swim Ontario. Session: Session length is limited to 4.5 hours Rules: The FINA start rule will be in effect. This meet is sanctioned by Swim Ontario, and all times are official. SNC rules will apply in addition to the following: 1. Entries will be received on a first come, first served basis. As soon as the sessions reach their 4.5 hour max, the meet will be marked as full and no more entries will be accepted. 2. Meet management reserves the right to adjust session times. 3. Meet management reserves the right to cancel relays if sessions are going to extend past the 4.5 hour timeframe 4. Meet management reserves the right to cancel 25m events if sessions are going to extend past 4.5 hour timeframe 5. Meet Management reserves the right to swim the 400m, 800 m and 1500m freestyle two per lane if entries require it. 6. Meet management reserves the right to combine any event into mixed gender events. If you have and athlete who may be able to set a record, please notify the meet manager. 7. Meet Management reserves the right to limit the number of entries to all events 400m and longer. If any swimmer is declined entry to a distance event, Meet management will make every effort to notify coaches within 48 hours of the event if changes are necessary. 8. Meet management reserves the right to make any other changes required during the meet that are deemed necessary, with consultation with coaches, to ensure sessions stay within prescribed time frames. Entries: Swimmers are limited to 7 individual events (max 4 per day) plus relays. There are no qualifying times in effect however coaches are asked to make every effort to ensure every athlete is entered with a time for every event. Please do not submit NT entries Events will be broken down by age group and gender, however Meet Management reserves the right to combine age groups and genders to ensure session timeframes are met. Meet Results: Meet program is run on Hy-tek Meet Manager. Results will be posted as soon as possible at the meet. Results will be posted to http://www.swimming.ca/MeetList.aspx as soon as possible after the end of the meet Live results will also be available during the meet on Meet Mobile and on our website at www.byst.ca . All results on Meet Mobile are considered UNOFFICIAL RESULTS. Seeding: Swimmers will be seeded slowest to fastest as per the event listing below EXCEPT the 800m and 1500m free which will be seeded fastest to slowest. Awards: Overall top team trophy to be awarded (winning team will receive a plaque to take home and their name will go on the cup) Plaques will be given to the high point athlete of each age group and gender Medals will be awarded for Individual events (1st- 3rd ) then ribbons for 4th to 8th Relay events will be awarded ribbons for (1st- 3rd ) Scoring: Team scores - Individual events will be scored under following 9,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 (1st – 8th) and relays will be double. High point scores – Individual events will be scored 5, 2, 1 (1st-3rd) towards the age group high point award *Awards MUST be collected by coaches at the end of the meet. Awards will NOT be mailed out afterwards* 10 and under 11-12 13-14 15+ Age groups: Individual events and Relays age categories will be: 10 and under 11-12 13-14 15+ Scratches: All scratches shall be reported to Meet Management during the warm up at least 30 min prior to the start of the session. Deck entries: Deck entries for individual and relay events will be EXHIBITION ONLY and will only be permitted if there is space in existing heats. No new heats will be created to accommodate deck entries. Deck entries must be submitted to Meet Management at least 30 minutes prior to the start of each session. No deck entries will be permitted after this time. Cost for deck entries shall be $10.00 per entry. Relays: All relays shall require positive check in at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the session. Relay cards will be provided to each coach at the start of the session and shall be returned to Meet Management. Positive Check in: Positive check in for 800m and 1500m free shall be reported to Meet Management at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the session. Split times: Meet management requires that any coach wishing to rely on a time achieved by the swimmer for an interval shorter than the total distance of the event shall so advise the Meet management office and the Referee prior to the commencement of the session (or event) in question. SNC Policy on Swimwear: Effective Sept 1, 2009, all swimwear worn in swimming competitions sanctioned under the authority of Swimming Canada must conform to the Jan 1, 2010 FINA swimwear approval guidelines as listed below. MATERIAL – The material of swimwear will definitively be constituted only by textile fabric(s). The FINA definition of “textile” currently is: “Material consisting of, natural and/or synthetic, individual and non consolidated yarns used to constitute a fabric by weaving, knitting, and /or braiding”. SHAPE- MEN: swimwear shall not extend above the navel or below the knee. WOMEN: swimwear shall not cover the neck, extend past the shoulder, not extend below the knee. No zippers or other fastening system is allowed. USE- Swimmers shall wear only one swimsuit, taping is not permitted CONSISTENCY- Swimwear effectively manufactured and used shall correspond to and be fully consistent with FINA approved samples. Any modification before use (including impregnation) is prohibited. Moreover, there shall be no variation/ modification for individual swimmers. The competitor must wear only one swimsuit on one or two pieces. No additional items, like armbands or leg bands shall be regarded as part of a swimsuit. Other items covering the body and not part of the swimsuit are prohibited. Food: Food is NOT PERMITTED on deck for athletes. Coaches and officials are NOT to bring their own food on deck, but will be provided snacks and water by Meet Hospitality. Coloured juice and sports drinks are NOT PERMITTED on deck. Food and beverages will also be available for parents and swimmers from the concession stand. Coach Certification: Only certified, registered coaches are permitted on deck. Coaches meeting: The coaches meeting will be held Saturday morning during the session 1 warm up at 8:15 a.m. Please meet in the office beside the pool.
