FATIMA OLD BOYS’ ASSOCIATION SEVEN-A-SIDE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT DETAILS OF THE TOURNAMENT The Fatima Old Boys’ Association is hosting a Seven-A-Side football tournament in an attempt to create a setting for Fatima College alumni to socialize and to foster camaraderie among peers. This event is carded for Sunday September 6th, 2009, at Fatima College Grounds from 9:00 am – 4:00pm. STRUCTURE OF THE TOURNAMENT The competition will be run as a Seven-A-Side (7) Tournament open to past students of Fatima College. Players will not be allowed to play for more than one team. In the case of 30 – 45 category, the winner Group A would play the winner of Group B to determine the overall winner of the category. In the case of ties the winner of the head-to-head would be designated the winner of the Group REGISTRATION In order to compete in this tournament Team Captains must and individual participants are to submit register on the Official registration no later than August 24th 2009 via email or directly at the F.O.B.A office. There are three categories for this competition: Under 30 yrs – maximum of four (4) teams 30-45 yrs – maximum of eight (8) teams Over 45 – maximum of (4) teams There are a maximum of twelve (12) slots available for team registrations and six (6) teams available for individual participants. These are distributed as follows: TEAM SPOTS INDIVIDUALS Under 30 yrs 3 1 NO. TEAMS 30-45 yrs 6 2 Over 45yrs 3 1 Team spots are available on a first come first serve basis. No changes or additions of participants are allowed to be made after a team has completed its first game. TEAM COMPLIMENT Each team will be allowed a minimum of Seven (7) and a maximum of ten (10) registered players. UNIFORMS Teams must wear uniforms in order to take part in the Tournament. T-shirts, which will serve as the team’s uniform will be provided by the Organising Committee on the day of the Event. DECISIONS BY ORGANISING COMMITTEE Any issues or matters arising on the day are to be addressed by the Organising Committee. Decisions made by this Committee are final Page 2 of 3 RULES AND REGULATIONS NUMBER OF PLAYERS Every team must start with Seven (7) players. If at anytime a team has less than five (5) players on the field, that team shall forfeit the game. DURATION OF MATCHES Each match shall consist of two periods of twelve (12) minutes each. If the score is tied at the end of full time, penalties shall be used to determine a winner. SUBSTITUTIONS Unlimited flying substitutions except goalkeeper are allowed. Substitution of the goalkeeper may occur only when ball is out of play. All goalkeeping changes must be approved by the referee. All substitutions must be done at the half way line. PLAYER EQUIPMENT Footwear is compulsory. A player shall not wear anything that is dangerous to the other players. FREE KICKS Direct Free Kicks will be awarded for Tackles from behind and sliding tackles. Indirect Free Kicks will be awarded for charging the goalkeeper in the penalty area. YELLOW AND RED CARDS These are left to the discretion of the referee. EXPELLED PLAYERS Players expelled by the referee must leave the field of play, for the remainder of the match. Expelled players can continue to play in subsequent matches. PENALTIES/ SUDDEN DEATH If scores are tied at the end of regular The teams take kicks alternately in a best of five. Player sent off cannot kick. Change of goalkeeper with other player of team permitted. All players to remain on pitch. Kicker must stand to take kick. Non-kicking foot must be stationary.
