2014 Homecoming King and Queen Requirements
Nominee Must:

Be currently enrolled as a student at the University of Houston;
Be at least a junior in classification by University records;
Be willing to fulfill the active role and duties for the HC Court and the
Homecoming King and Queen, which include Court announcement, HC
events, receptions, campus enrichment, special events, and University &
Alumni events.
If nominated by more than one organization, nominee must choose only
one organization that she/he will represent
Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.50. (NOTE: GPA will
be verified.)
Applications are due no later than 5:00 pm in Center for Student
Involvement Front Desk (UC North Room 103) or the Center for Students
Involvement Front Desk on Tuesday, October 14, 2014
Policies and Rules for Homecoming King and Queen
1) Please make sure that your organization’s candidate(s) fill out
the application in its entirety.
2) Please type or print.
3) The essay is to be typed separately.
4) Both the essay and the verification of community service should
be attached to the application and submitted by the deadline.
These are the only documents that should be attached to the
King and Queen application. DO NOT submit a resume or vita.
5) Each candidate will interview before a panel of judges.
6) Your candidate must be available on Sunday, October 26,
2014 for an interview with the judges between 1PM and 7PM.
7) Candidates are encouraged to dress in professional attire and
do not need to bring any items with them to the interview.
Interviews run approximately fifteen minutes long.
8) All Homecoming Court Participants are REQUIRED TO ATTEND
the following events planned for the Homecoming Week:
Required events include: Kick Off Pep Rally/ Ceremony, Block
Party, Strut Your Stuff, Canned Food Extravaganza, President’s
Meet & Greet, Court Practice, Homecoming Fiesta, and the
Homecoming Game, as this is part of the Homecoming Court’s
responsibility.
