Wellbeing Assistant
Full Time 37.5 hrs per week
(part time applications also welcome)
Title:
Wellbeing Assistant
Salary: Band C £16,830 (pro rata part time)
Background:
This role is part of the Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust’s ‘Healthy Minds’
Enhanced Primary Care Mental Health Service and sits within the Wellbeing Hub.
The Wellbeing Hub provides a connection between statutory and voluntary sector
services, operating as a service to ensure that people experiencing low level mental
health and wellbeing problems are able to access appropriate support in a timely
manner. The Wellbeing Hub will sit alongside Worcestershire NHS Single Point of
Access (SPA) which is open beyond normal office hours.
Purpose:
The Wellbeing Assistant will be working alongside NHS professionals to provide a
non-clinical service. They will answer telephone and email enquiries to ensure that
service users are signposted or directed to the most appropriate wellbeing or
mental health service.

The Community First Enhanced Primary Care Mental Health Coordinator and supported by the Worcestershire Health and Care NHS
Trust Mental Health Business Manager
Responsible for: No direct reports
Main Duties and Responsibilities:



To receive and process email and telephone requests from self –referrals GPs,
other professionals
To book service users directly onto core wellbeing programmes using live ebooking systems as appropriate
To signpost service users to wider community programmes as appropriate

To direct service users to Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust if required
To follow written protocols, making use of matrices, directories and guidelines
provided
To liaise with local community providers to ensure Healthy Minds resource
directory is regularly updated
To ensure personal knowledge of local community and primary care provision is
kept up to date
To ensure service users are aware of and able to access self-help materials as
appropriate
To collect and record data by appropriate methods enabling evaluation of the
service and to meet set key performance indicators
To maintain satisfactory records of work undertaken in line with information
governance, policies and procedures, contributing to the collection of monitoring
information
To abide by set policies and procedures including confidentiality, data protection
and safeguarding
General
 Operate within the agreed policies and procedures of Community First and actively
engage in their delivery

Carry out all work with due regard to Community First equal opportunities policies and
procedures.

Promote Community First’s Values and reflect them in working practices

Undertake appropriate training and skills development as might be identified to fulfil the
requirements of the role

Participate in staff training and development as required

Ensure that movement and diary commitments are updated on a regular basis.

Ensure that work carried out is in accordance with Community First’s written
procedures
Particular duties and responsibilities may vary from time to time without changing the
general character of the duties or level of responsibility entailed. The post holder may
therefore be required to pursue activities other than those specified above.
