Small Nation Content with International Appeal: The Case of

Danish Television Drama
Series such as Forbrydelsen/The Killing and Borgen from the Danish public service
broadcaster DR have travelled widely in the 2010s, despite being subtitled content
from a small nation production culture. Eva Novrup Redvall offers insights into the
screenwriting and production framework behind the series and discusses with Ruth
Harley the recent international interest in Nordic Noir and high-end serial drama.

Join us for an exploration into the creative potential of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality
(AR). With a focus on telling stories in these new media, over the course of the morning you’ll get
the chance to hear from some leading virtual reality creators, experience innovative projects,
meet like-minded creative people and get inspired.
NZFC Chief Executive Dave Gibson will also outline guidelines for the agency’s $200,000 pilot
Interactive Story Fund aimed at supporting storytelling across these new platforms.
Speakers and companies involved include Alejandro Davila (The Green Fairy/Conical VR Studio),
James Everett (NZ Game Developers Association/Magic Leap), Ben Forman and Kat Lintott
(Wrestler), Kate Stevenson and Chris White (DOTDOT).
