Welcome to Kindergarten! This will be an exciting year full of wonder, exploration, and learning. I am just as excited as you and your child to get started in July! My name is Macey Baldizzi and this is my third year here at EDUPRIZE. I will be teaching the AM TOPS-Technology kindergarten program. Literacy, math, and science are all passions of mine and I just love teaching these at the kindergarten level! The four cottages (science themes) we study this year are: All About Me, Holiday Fun, Habitats, and Life Cycles. I have been in the profession of education for 15 years now. My Early Childhood Education Degree is from Kent State University in Ohio and I am also a reading specialist for grades K-8. I am currently working on my Master’s Degree in Educational Technology. Outside of school, I love the outdoors and prefer to spend weekends camping, rock climbing, and rock collecting! This explains why my husband and I moved here from Ohio seven years ago! Our kindergarten class will be busy little bees and I will work hard to be sure they are fully enjoying the learning experience along the way. One important thing to think about is volunteering in the classroom. There are programs we have that rely on parent help, so please feel welcome to volunteer and look for sign-ups for volunteering the first few weeks of school. Communication is also so important to me! Please be prepared to receive text messages through a text message system, as well as emails all year long. I am always available by phone or in person, but I find that texting keeps everyone aware of special events and reminders such as, “Today is Water Day! Remember to pack a lunch and bring your towels!” Another thing to start planning for now is being at school on time! The TOPS program has a lot of learning in a condensed time, so we really hit the road running in order to meet our kindergarten learning targets. We begin promptly at 7:20 and end at 12:20. Please be sure to check our website often at www.eduprizeschools.net for updated information. Calendar of School Events: Open House: Monday July 24th 11:00 am Room 14, Building 1 Open house will be a quick meet and greet, so I plan on giving you a phone call before in order to address any specific questions or concerns you may have. Student drop off and pick up information will be given at Open House. Please complete and print the Open House Forms on the EDUPRIZE website and bring the completed forms at this time so I can begin to get to know your child and have important information before school starts. You will find these forms at www.eduprizeschools.net. Wednesday July 26th- First Day of School! Students must be on time and present the entire school day in order to be considered enrolled at EDUPRIZE.
