REGISTRATION 2016
Registration for the 2016 season will be open to returning 2015 players and new players from 1st January
2016.
In order to register, players need to:
1. Attend team placement sessions if playing in under 12s to 18s (see below)
2. visit myfootballclub.com.au and register to play for BSSC in 2016
3. pay fees during the online registration process above
In the first instance may I ask all returning players to complete the Beeliar Spirit Soccer Club Membership
form at the back of this document and return by email to [email protected]

Also, if you know of any player that wishes to join the club please pass on the Registration Pack and ask the
player and parent to complete the form in full and return to the Club Secretary.
In Section 6 you have the option to nominate the team that you played in last season or the team you wish
to play for this coming season.
Note : No payment will be required at this stage. Completing and returning this form allows the club to sort
out the kits and recruit coaches for the upcoming season.
Team placement sessions will be held at Beeliar Oval on the following dates. This will also allow players and
parents to complete Membership forms, seek assistance completing online registration, ask questions and
order uniforms:

BSSC will endeavour to place all players a position in a team. Should team positions not be available, the
club will advise immediately.

Kidsport Grants are available to eligible families through the City of Cockburn. Applications should be made
immediately upon registration with the club and evidence of approval should be provided to the Registrar as
soon as it is received. Details are available at www.cockbun.wa.gov.au/kidsport
Fees are non refundable once the season commences.
Team Placement sessions for 2016 – under 12s to 18s.
Team placement sessions will be held to confirm returning players and assess new players for placement in
appropriate teams from the dates and times listed above at Beeliar Oval.
Age boundaries TO BE CONFIRMED FOR 2016 – THE BELOW IS TAKEN FROM 2015 SEASON
Please note that all players must register to play within the allowable boundaries below.
No exceptions can be made unless discussed with the committee and an application placed with
Football West.
1. A player is eligible to play in the MiniRoos League in the 6s-7s age group if he was born between 1 January
2008 and 31 December 2010. A female player is eligible to play in the 6s-7s age group if she was born
between 1 January 2007 and 31 December 2010.
2. A player is eligible to play in the MiniRoos League in the 8s age group if he was born between 1 January
2007 and 31 December 2009. A female player is eligible to play in the 8s age group if she was born between
1 January 2006 and 31 December 2009.
3. A player is eligible to play in the MiniRoos League in the 9s age group if he was born between 1 January
2006 and 31 December 2008. A female player is eligible to play in the 9s age group if she was born between
1 January 2005 and 31 December 2008.
4. A player is eligible to play in the MiniRoos League in the 10s age group if he was born between 1 January
2005 and 31 December 2007. A female player is eligible to play in the 10s age group if she was born between
1 January 2004 and 31 December 2007.
5. A player is eligible to play in the MiniRoos League in the 11s age group if he was born between 1 January
2004 and 31 December 2006. A female player is eligible to play in the 11s age group if she was born between
1 January 2003 and 31 December 2006
6. A player is eligible to play in the 12s age group if he was born between 1 January 2003 and 31 December
2005. A female player is eligible to play in the 12s age group if she was born between 1 January 2002 and
31 December 2005.
7. A player is eligible to play in the 13s age group if he was born between 1 January 2002 and 31 December
2004. A female player is eligible to play in the 13s age group if she was born between 1 January 2001 and
31 December 2004. These age limitations do not apply to the NTC Girls 15s team which will play in the Junior
Boys League 13s Division 1.
8. A player is eligible to play in the 14s age group if he was born between 1 January 2001 and 31 December
2003. A female player is eligible to play in the 14s age group if she was born between 1 January 1997 and
31 December 2003.
9. A player is eligible to play in the 15s age group if he was born between 1 January 2000 and 31 December
2002. A female player is eligible to play in the 15s age group if she was born between 1 January 1997 and
31 December 2002.
10. A player is eligible to play in the 16s age group if he was born between 1 January 1999 and 31 December
2001. A female player is eligible to play in the 16s age group if she was born between 1 January 1997 and
31 December 2001.
11. A player is eligible to play in the 18s age group if he was born between 1 January 1997 and 31 December
2000. A female player is eligible to play in the 18s age group if she was born between 1 January 1996 and
31 December 1999.
Uniforms
Players will be allocated a playing shirt by their coach prior to the commencement of the season. This
remains the property of BSSC and must be returned at the last game of the season.
BSSC shorts and jackets can be ordered on registration days at a cost of $45 per jacket and $13 per shorts.
Players are required to provide their own shin pads and plain navy socks.
Training
Training dates and times are at the discretion of the coach. The coach and team manager will liaise with
parents to advise when training commences. Generally teams players from under 13s up commence training
in January/February and all others throughout March.
Season Commencement
The first game of the season is generally the last weekend on the April school holidays.
Code of Conduct
Parents & Players are required to read the BSSC Code of Conduct and acknowledge acceptance on the
Membership Application Form.
Insurance
Part of player’s registration fees is paid to Football West for Insurance against injury.
This is NOT an all encompassing insurance it is recommended that you keep or obtain your own personal
health insurance.

understand that failure to do so is subject to disciplinary action.
No reimbursement of fees will be made due to the dismissal of a player from a game or the club for not
adhering to this agreement as out lined.

Code of Conduct
Parent Responsibilities
While present at any Beeliar Spirit Soccer Club function, parents are to respect each other, other members of Beeliar Spirit
Soccer Club, Visitors and Match officials. Parents are to acknowledge the following;
1. Do not drop your child off and drive away. The coach &/or manager is not responsible for your child’s safety or well being. This
can only be done with prior arrangement with the coach & only with under12s, 13s & 14s.
1a. Be prompt when collecting your child – the club, its coaches and team managers are all volunteers and not responsible
outside of the game / training times.
2. Please show common courtesy by informing your Team Manager or Coach if your child is unavailable for training sessions or
games – as early as feasibly possible.
3. Assist your child’s team when rostered for any of the following: canteen duty, line marking, erection and pack up of nets,
sweeping of change rooms and surrounds, oranges, Marshalls, drink bottles and laundering of uniforms – A roster will be issued
to all parents by the Team Manager before the season commences. If you are unable to provide the services that you have been
rostered for on a particular game day, it then becomes your responsibility to find another parent to fill in.
4. Assist your child, your child’s team, and the club, throughout the year by volunteering to assist with, and participate in, other
activities such as social events and fund raising activities.
5. Support your child’s team in a positive manner at all times.
6. Under no circumstance should a parent be abusive towards any player, match official, team official, parent or supporter. Such
behavior may result in fines or suspensions or both.
Beeliar Spirit Soccer Club Rules
1. The club Philosophy doesn't support grading teams at the younger age groups of under 8s to under 11s.
Grading only comences when the teams starts to play for points, which is the under 12s league and upwards. In some instances
it will be necessary for the club to grade players according to their ability; this is for the benefit of the players and allows them to
compete against teams / players of similar abilities. In the case of Under 8 to 11 squads this would only happen with the
endorsement of all parents, players, and the Committee.
2. In the sub junior grades (Under 6 through to Under 11 squads) players will be rotated as equally as possible during games. This
will be decided by the coach at his/her discretion.
3. In junior divisions (Under 12 to Under 18 squads), playing time will progressively be based on ability, fitness, game / training
performance and team strategy.
4. Beeliar Spirit will endeavor to field teams with a maximum of 4 reserve players to ensure that all players receive sufficient
game time.
5. If player registrations exceed the “4 reserve maximum” in an age group, a composite team may be formed. If required, a panel
including the team coach, the club’s head coach, coaching director and committee members will select each squad.
6. Where it is not possible to fit all registered players in an age based or composite team, registrations will be declined in the
following order;
a. Registrations received after the last advertised registration date.
b. Players with registration fees that have not been paid by the final grading day (and at the discretion of the Committee in the
event of financial hardship).
c. Based on previous attendance at training sessions, grading days and participation in the club’s activities (such as training
teams, skills clinics etc).
7. Team compositions may be adjusted during the season on occasions to accommodate abilities, injuries or withdrawals. Your
child may be selected to play in a team different from his/her friend.
Complaints & disciplinary Procedures
1. If you have a complaint or issue, direct your comments to the Team Manager on training nights, not on match days. If further
action is necessary, complaints must be sent in writing to the Club Vice President or secretary for initial review & then further the
issue to the committee to review if a solution is not forthcoming.
2. If a club member / parent breaches normal acceptable standards of behavior, such as bad language, vandalism, theft, abusive
behavior, violation of confidential information or conduct unbecoming a member of the club, that person may be called upon to
appear before the committee and a formal written apology must be given.
3. If the behavior of member/ parent results in fines being imposed on the club then the individual concerned will be expected to
pay those fines unless they can justify otherwise to the committee.
4. The Club reserves the right to suspend or expel any member or player who fails to abide by the club rules, regulations and
codes of behavior, as published by the Beeliar Spirit Soccer Club.
5. No player or member is to have contact with the Football Federation /Football west or any other organization on club matters
without the permission of the Club President or Secretary
General Principles for all persons involved in soccer
• Operate within the Rules and spirit of Football, promoting fair play over winning at any cost.
• Encourage and support opportunities for people to learn appropriate behaviours and skills.
• Support opportunities for participation in all aspects of the sport.
• Treat and respect each person as an individual.
• Display control and courtesy to all involved with the sport.
• Respect the rights and worth of everybody regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.
• Respect the decisions of officials, coaches and administrators in the conduct of the sport.
• Wherever practical, avoid unaccompanied and unobserved one-on-one activity (when in a supervisory capacity or where a
power imbalance will exist) with people under the age of 18 years.
• Adopt appropriate and responsible behaviour in all interactions.
• Adopt responsible behaviour in relation to alcohol and other drugs.
• Act with integrity and objectivity, and accept responsibility for your decisions and actions.
• Ensure your decisions and actions contribute to a safe environment.
• Do not tolerate harmful or abusive behaviours.
• Do not bring the game of Football into Disrepute, by engaging in discriminatory, offensive or criminal behaviour.
• Ensure your decisions and actions contribute to a harassment free environment.
• Do not bring the game into Disrepute by engaging in harassment, including sexual harassment or any unwelcome sexual
conduct.
• Do not bring the game into Disrepute by provoking, inciting hatred or violence, including crowd violence.
• Do not bring the game into Disrepute by engaging in corruption, forgery or falsification, or by abusing a position to obtain a
personal benefit.
• Do not bring the game into Disrepute by the throwing or fixing of a match, by accepting bribes, or by any conduct intended to
unfairly effect the result of a match;
• Do not bring the game into Disrepute by any other conduct that materially injures the reputation and goodwill of Football.
COACHES’ CODE OF BEHAVIOUR
(a) Remember that players participate for the fun of it and that winning is not everything;
(b) Never ridicule or yell at a player for making a mistake or being in a losing team;
(c) Be reasonable in your demands on younger players time, energy and enthusiasm,
(d) Teach your players to abide by the Rules and Laws of the Game;
(e) Whenever possible, alternate the group of players to ensure everyone has a reasonable chance of success;
(f) Make sure all players get a minimum of half a game on the playing field;
(g) Ensure that equipment and facilities meet a reasonable safety standard and are appropriate to the age and ability of the
players;
(h) Modify your approach to suit the skill levels and needs of players;
(i) Develop and enhance respect between players, opposition coaches and the decisions of the match official;
(j) Follow the advice of a physician when determining the extent of a player’s injury and beyond that, when players are returning
from injury to training and match play;
(k) Keep up to date with the latest coaching practices (refer to Coach Accreditation Criteria);
(l) Take time out to teach players (& others) the Laws of the Game, hence raising their awareness;
(m) Remind all players to play within the spirit of the game at all times;
(n) Ensure players are good sports and ensure each team member shakes the hand of their opponents at the conclusion of every
match;
(o) Do not smoke or consume alcohol from the team bench (Technical Area) or sideline;
(p) Remember the actions of yourself and your team is reflective of the perception others take away with them
MATCH OFFICIALS’ CODE OF BEHAVIOUR
(a) Modify your approach to suit the skill levels and needs of players;
(b) Praise and encourage all participants;
(c) Be consistent, objective and courteous when making decisions;
(d) Do not tolerate unsporting behavior and promote respect for all opponents;
(e) Emphasize the spirit of the game rather than focus on negative aspects;
(f) Encourage and promote rule changes to all players and members;
(g) Be a good sport yourself, as actions speak louder than words;
(h) Keep up to date with the latest trends in refereeing;
(i) Remember that you set the example on the park, therefore, your behavior and comments should always be positive and
supportive;
PLAYERS’ CODE OF BEHAVIOUR
(a) Play by the Rules and within the spirit of the game;
(b) Do not argue with the match official. If you disagree, have your captain or coach approach the match official during a break in
play or after the match is concluded;
(c) Control your temper. Verbal abuse of officials or other players, deliberately distracting or provoking another person is not
acceptable or permitted in any sport;
(d) Maintain your focus and work hard for yourself and your team;
(e) Be a good sport and be prepared to acknowledge good play whether it is from your team or the opposition;
(f) Treat all players as you would like to be treated. Do not interfere with, bully or take unfair advantage of another player;
(g) Cooperate with your coach, team mates and opponents. Without them, there would be no competition;
(h) Play for your own enjoyment, and not just to please parents and coaches;
(i) Remove all jewellery prior to training and match play, as it is a hazard to you and those around you;
(j) Do not accept or use any banned or unauthorized drug(s), including the consumption of alcohol at any time.
PARENTS’ CODE OF BEHAVIOUR
(a) Remember that children play the sport for their enjoyment, and not yours;
(b) Encourage all children to participate, do not force them;
(c) Focus on the child’s efforts and performance rather than the result of the activity (that is, winning or losing);
(d) Encourage children to always participate according to the rules;
(e) Never ridicule, yell at a child for making a mistake or losing a game;
(f) Remember that children learn best by example, so applaud good play by both teams;
(g) Support all efforts to remove racial or religious vilification, verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities;
(h) Respect the match official’s decisions and teach your child to do likewise;
(i) Show respect and appreciation to Club officials, including coaches, officials and administrators. Ensure any issues are raised
through the correct channels;
(j) Do not smoke or consume alcohol near the team bench (Technical Area) or sideline.
(NB for the purposes of this code of behavior ‘Disrepute’ means conduct, statement or appearance in public that is damaging to
reputation).
