Second Conditional Board Game Aim: To practice the second conditional. Activity: Students have to accurately complete second conditional sentences in order to move to the next spot on the board. The winner gets a small prize. Organisation: Group work Preparation: Make two copies of the board game (five students play at a time, so two boards are needed for a class of ten). Each student requires a counter, and each group needs a dice. Rules of the game: 1. 2. 3. 4. All students place their counters on “Start”. Each student takes it in turn to throw the dice. The student moves their counter forward the number of spaces indicated on the dice. The student then has to complete the second conditional sentence they land on. If they complete it correctly, they stay where they are; if the complete it incorrectly, they go back to where they were before they threw the dice. 5. BONUS: Students can move forward one extra space if the rest of the team finds their answer particularly creative/entertaining/humorous. 6.
