GENERAL INFORMATION
REGISTRATION DATES?
Registration for Basketball will begin Monday, October 26th. Deadline to register is Monday,
November 30th.

LEAGUES OFFERED & ELIGIBILITY
The child’s age on September 1st of this year determines the division of play. We will have girls
only leagues if the numbers allow. If the numbers do not allow, they will be placed into the coed leagues
or given a refund at their request.

Angels – For ages 7, 8 & 9
Pee Wee – For ages 7 & 8
Ponytails – For ages 10, 11, & 12
Small Fry - For ages 9 & 10

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST TO REGISTER MY CHILD?
The cost for registering is based on the current residence of the participant.

($10.00 late registration fee will be added on all registrations received after November 30, 2015)
A discount does apply to families with multiple children involved. A $5.00 credit may be issued if another child is
participating in Conway Parks, Recreation and Tourism Winter Sports. You must register in person to receive multiple child
discount.
Cash, Check and Visa/MasterCard/Discover are acceptable forms of payment.
Note: There is a $30.00 service charge on all returned checks. Note: those who have outstanding balances or failure to
return issued equipment will not be eligible to register until your account is in good standing.
WHAT CAN MY CHILD EXPECT TO RECEIVE?
Each participant will receive a Game Uniform, which includes a jersey and shorts and will also receive a
participation certificate. Trophies will be awarded in the following manner: No trophies for Little Tykes (ages5/6)
and Pee Wee (ages 7/8) as these are instructional leagues and no standings are kept. Individual Trophies will be
awarded to the Regular Season champions in Small Fry (ages 9/10), Mite ages 11/12) and Midget (ages 13/14).
WHAT EQUIPMENT DOES MY CHILD NEED FOR PRACTICES/GAMES?
Practice attire will be provided by the parents - Shorts, T-shirts and Proper Athletic Shoes (Non-Marking Tennis
Shoes ONLY).
WHEN WILL THE PARENT INFORMATION MEETING BE HELD?
The Parents meeting will be held on Monday, December 14 @ 6:00 pm at the Conway Senior Center.
WHEN & WHERE IS THE SKILLS ASSESSMENT?
The All Girls league will have an Informational Meeting on Wednesday, December 9th at the Conway Recreation Center
Court #1. Players returning to the same age group as last year (2015) do not have to attend placements.
Ages 5/6 & 7/8 – No Skills Assessment. Participants will be contacted by their coach by Friday, December 18th.
Ages 9/10 – Skills Assessment will be Tuesday, December 1st at 6pm at the Conway Elementary School Gym.
Ages 11/12 - Skills Assessment will be Thursday, December 3rd at 6pm at the Conway Elementary School Gym.
Ages 13/14 - Skills Assessment will be Monday, December 7th at 6pm at the Conway Elementary School Gym.
WHEN WILL PRACTICES BEGIN?
Practices for all leagues will begin the week of December 14th. Ages 5-8 will be at Conway Elementary, while
ages 9 and older will be at the Conway Recreation Center.
WHEN WILL GAMES BEGIN?
Games will begin the week of January 4th. Ages 5-8 will be at Conway Elementary, while ages 9 and older will be
at the Conway Recreation Center. Regular season games will end by March 1st.
WHAT DAYS OF THE WEEK WILL MY CHILD BE PLAYING?
Basketball games will be held Monday through Friday nights as well as Saturday mornings. Game times will be
weeknights at 5:30 pm, 6:30 pm, and 7:30 pm. Saturday game times will be 9:00 am, 10:00 am, 11:00 am, 12:00
pm, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, and 3:00 pm.
(Game dates and times are subject to change depending on number of teams and gym availability)
ARE TEAM PICTURES OFFERED?
Yes, Event Fotos of Myrtle Beach is the official photographer. A picture schedule will be available on-line at
www.ConwayParksandRecreation.com .Your coach will also provide Team picture information.
IS PARTICIPANT INSURANCE AVAILABLE?
Participation Insurance is included in your registration fee.
