Tryout Package 2017-2018 - London Heat Cheerleading

Thank you for choosing to try out with London Heat All Stars Cheerleading! Cheerleading is one of the fastest
growing competitive sports in Canada and we are proud to be a growing force among the top gyms in Ontario. As
a Heat athlete you will work towards perfecting a routine which includes stunting, tumbling, jumps and dancing. It
is a great way to improve strength, flexibility, endurance and coordination. We at London Heat strive to make a
difference in each athlete’s life. Not only do we want them to be the best athlete they can be, but we also wish to
teach them valuable life skills, helping them to be the best people they can be. Many aspects of our program go
far beyond cheerleading. We stress sportsmanship, family values, education, leadership, dedication and trust. We
want them to understand what being part of a team means. Cheerleading is the ultimate team sport as it relies on
every member of the team to be successful. Our philosophy is not to “win at all costs,” but to train and work hard
in all aspects of life. London Heat is known for its integrity, sportsmanship, professional attitude and overall
community support. What our cheerleaders become as adults is our priority!
Here's what a few of our parents have said:
"Since joining London Heat Cheerleading my daughter's confidence level has
soared because of the positive way the coaches interact with the girls. The coaches
and staff at London Heat take the time not only to build a team that can compete
well but also to build a family within the teams who genuinely care about one
another." LH
"Our rookie year with London Heat has been an amazing experience! The passion
the coaches have for the sport is contagious! They teach teamwork, sportsmanship
& optimism as well as the fundamentals of cheerleading. Go HEAT Go!" BG
Our Teams
We are very proud of our cheerleading teams and excited about their successes over the past years! Again, this
year we will be determining the number of teams and levels after tryouts. The final decision will be based on the
number of athletes at tryouts, ages and skill level. A description of the teams is given below to give you an idea of
what we are considering.

If an athlete is not placed on one of the above teams, we encourage athletes to join one of our recreational
Tumble and Cheer classes. This program is designed for those athletes who wish to learn cheerleading in a noncompetitive environment or who are not quite ready for the competitive stream. If you like cheerleading but don’t
have time to travel, compete, or you just want to cheer for fun, this is your best option.
TEAM SELECTION
Team members are chosen, to give each team an equal chance for success within their division. Much like many
other sports, a variety of skills, abilities are required to give teams the best opportunity to place well at
competitions. Every athlete is on the team for a reason – please trust the staff to place athletes on a team that will
enable them to succeed to their potential!
Crossovers – Crossovers are by invitation only! If you are invited to participate as a crossover, we will send you the
details for expectations and fees. Please make sure to note on your tryout form if you are willing to accept a cross
over position for this season. If a cross over position is offered the primary team must be accepted.

allow you to make a decision with all of our most current information.

policy, please take this time to celebrate your athletes placing and if you have any
concerns after that time period, please feel free to contact Jamie via email only at
[email protected]
3. No two athletes are the same; please refrain from comparing your athlete to anyone
else. Everyone has different positions on a team. We will be happy to discuss your
athlete’s placement.
4. Tumbling does not make a level, regardless of tumbling your athlete will be placed at
a level that they are consistently achieving the elite range for stunts, jumps, baskets,
dance and tumbling. This will lead to a happy and successful season.
