About CAMPA: Collegiate Academy for Mathematics and Personal Awareness Charter
School (CAMPA) will pair a rigorous math-focused academic program with wellness and
personal awareness support to help our students thrive in high school, college, and career.
The combination of deep ties to the community, strong social development, visionary
instruction, and insightful leadership will create a healthy and stimulating learning
environment for CAMPA students.
The CAMPA community will work tirelessly to ensure that our students will be in a
serious, nurturing environment that will foster academic success and promote character
development. We expect that all of our students will not only leave CAMPA with a
command of the skills necessary to perform at a high level in college, but will also
develop the social tools required to thrive in our ever-changing global society.
CAMPA will open in Fall 2016 in East New York with 6th grade. As our students
advance to the next grade, we will grow to a full grades 6-8 middle school by Fall 2018.
Who we are looking for: CAMPA’s Director of Operations will manage all noninstructional aspects of the school, including finances, HR, data, compliance, facilities,
technology, and more.
Responsibilities:
 Create and oversee the school’s budget and finances; manage accounting and
bookkeeping processes; manage the school’s credit card; manage annual audit
process; oversee school-based purchasing; ensure adherence to school’s fiscal
policy and procedures; provide regular reporting to the Board of Trustees on the
school’s finances
 Manage all HR aspects of the school, including payroll, benefits, paid time off,
HR policies and employee handbook, personnel paperwork, onboarding, end-ofemployment processes, staff recruitment, and selection
 Complete all required compliance reporting for the school’s authorizer, the NYC
Department of Education, NY State Department of Education, and any other body
accurately and on time
 Track school’s academic performance data and provide required and
supplementary reporting to the Board of Trustees and Principal
 Ensure school-wide compliance with health and safety laws, teacher certification
and fingerprinting, city and state education mandates, and all federal and state
workplace regulations
 Manage facility maintenance and construction; ensure compliance with lease
terms and buildings regulations
 Oversee the school’s student recruitment, lottery, and enrollment processes, food
services, events, and field trips
 Oversee the purchasing, maintenance and tracking of technology equipment
 Manage all external vendor relationships
Qualifications






A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required; master’s
degree in relevant field preferred
Minimum 3 years of related business or operations experience, preferably in an
urban charter school setting
Strong project management skills; must be detail-oriented and able to multitask
and re-prioritize as needed
Demonstrated experience with financial oversight and budgetary tracking
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Belief in and alignment with Collegiate Academy for Mathematics and Personal
Awareness Charter School’s core beliefs and educational philosophy
Compensation
Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
