Meanwhile In...Infosheet
Meanwhile In...is a place to make things happen, test your ideas, trial your
projects in a visible, creative and supportive environment. Have you been
thinking about a business or project idea, but need to space to trial it out? We
want to hear from you! It could be a bike repair shop, after school club, book
club, you may have been developing something in your bedroom, anything you
imagine could work in a shop.
The 'Meanwhile In...' project makes vacant shops in Lurgan and Portadown
available for interim use while they are seeking a permanent tenant. We are
currently seeking projects to occupy spaces on a rent-free meanwhile basis (up
to 4 months), the applicant will have to cover the costs of business rates,
insurance and utilities only. The 'Meanwhile In...' partnership will secure
agreements with the landlord and will support your project idea to happen.
How it works:
1. We are negotiating with a number of landlords in both Lurgan and
Portadown to secure shops to run a series of projects in the space
2. We don’t have any money to put into projects happening, but we can help
you work up your idea and find funding to pay for utilities, insurance and
business rates. You are allowed to charge and you will need to show in
your budget how you will pay for it
3. Once a month, The 'Meanwhile In...' partnership assess your proposal
based on content, budget and deliverability of proposals and offer you a
date
4. We will arrange access to the space and negotiate terms with the
landlord.
5. With your help, and making/using what is available, we get the best/most
workable ideas to happen together
