Class Offered:
Class Schedule:
Kids Learn to Skate (3-5 yrs):
Kids Learn to Skate
This program is designed to help pre-school age children
develop preliminary coordination and strength necessary
to move on skates. The Snowplow Sam curriculam will
allow preschool children to become comfortable on the
ice and have fun while learning new skills.
Note: A helmet for head protection is required. There
will be a limit of 8 students, with a waiting list.
Basic Skills 1-8 (4 yrs and Up):
The “Basic Skills” are the fundamentasl of the sport.
These eight levels of the program introduce the
fundamental moves - forward skating, backward
skating, stops, crossovers and turns. Learn the “Basics”
of skating in a fun group environment.
Hockey 1-4 (4 yrs and Up):
The hockey curriculam is designed to teach
fundamentals of hockey skating. In four badge levels,
skaters will learn to move faster and be more agile on
the ice. All elements will be taught without a stick or
puck as proper skating techniques are the primary focus
of the level.
Suggestions:
Helmets:
Helmets are optional, but strongly recommended,
especially for beginners.
Clothing:
Warm, layered, comfortable clothing and gloves are
recommended (sweaters and sweatshirts are preferable
to bulky jackets).
Skates:
Should be comfortable but snug. Skates should be
slightly smaller than shoe size.
