The Snowplow Sam curriculam will allow preschool children to become comfortable on the ice and have fun while learning new skills. Note: A helmet for head protection is required. There will be a limit of 8 students, with a waiting list. Basic Skills 1-8 (4 yrs and Up): The “Basic Skills” are the fundamentasl of the sport. These eight levels of the program introduce the fundamental moves - forward skating, backward skating, stops, crossovers and turns. Learn the “Basics” of skating in a fun group environment. Hockey 1-4 (4 yrs and Up): The hockey curriculam is designed to teach fundamentals of hockey skating. In four badge levels, skaters will learn to move faster and be more agile on the ice. All elements will be taught without a stick or puck as proper skating techniques are the primary focus of the level. Suggestions: Helmets: Helmets are optional, but strongly recommended, especially for beginners. Clothing: Warm, layered, comfortable clothing and gloves are recommended (sweaters and sweatshirts are preferable to bulky jackets). Skates: Should be comfortable but snug. Skates should be slightly smaller than shoe size. Level Evaluation: During the first two weeks of class, our professional staff will evaluate skaters based upon age and ability to ensure that they are in the correct class. Make-up Policy: Due to our dedication to keep our class sizes small, we will be unable to issue make-up classes. Refund Policy: No refunds will be given. The only exception to this rule will be for students in the Kids LTS program. Any Kids LTS student cancelling after the first or second class will be charged a $10.00 processing fee as well as $10.00 per class attended. After the second class, there will be no refunds.
