o Select a Mode:
 Daily: Marks selected students with an attendance code for
the entire day.
 Example: Student was marked absent by teacher, the
parent calls; use this mode to mark them Absent
Excused/Unexcused for the whole day.
 Period: Marks selected students with an attendance code for
a selected period.
 Example: A class is gone for a field trip during 3rd hour;
use this mode to mark those students out for that
period.
 Batch: Marks selected students with an attendance code for
a range of days/times.
 Example: A student will be out for a surgery for 2
weeks, use this mode to put in the attendance code for
that 2 week period.
 Edit: Allows attendance edits to students who already have

 Example: Student was marked Unexcused and they
bring in a note, use this mode to find all students with
an attendance code for a specific date and edit to a
different code.
 Batch Edit: Marks selected students with an attendance code
for a range of period(s) over a range of day(s).
 Example: Groups of students are going to an assembly
during 5th and 6th period for 3 days; use this mode to
mark those students with an attendance code for
those periods.
 Check In: Attendance codes are applied to absences
occurring before the current time on the attendance date.
 A student must already be marked absent in order to
use this mode.
 Calculates the minutes present automatically
 Example: Teacher marked student absent at beginning
of day, student comes in at 8:45. Use this mode to
notate the time the student arrived and this mode will
remove the attendance codes for the remainder of the
day.
 Check Out: Attendance codes are applied to absences
occurring after the current time on the attendance date.
 If a Check In/Check Out are done during same day
o Example: Student leaves for a Dr. Appointment
at 9:45. Use this mode to notate the time the
student left and this mode will apply the
attendance code to the remainder of the day.

GRADING PROCESSES
Open/Close Grading Window
The Grading Window determines when grades can be posted to
official student documents, such as Report Cards and Transcripts.
o Teachers can enter scores at any time, but posting grades is
usually done during specific times.
o The Grading Window can be opened for specific Courses, Grading
Tasks or Standards or for an entire school based on selections
made using the Grading Window Wizard.
o Each time you run the Wizard it will override any manual changes
made at a Course level.
