Budget heading Data technician/data cleaning/coding etc Salary costs e.g. research assistant Consumables (max €500, including VAT) Travel and subsistence Conference costs other than travel and subsistence Printing Launch event Dissemination Other (specify) Total Comments In deciding budgets you should consider carefully the level of expertise needed. We do not plan to pay recruitment costs for staff. Since you will be analysing existing data, the amount needed for consumables should be small. Most projects funded by CARDI over-estimated these costs. Travel should be by standard public transport, where possible. If travelling by car the maximum amount payable is €0.50 per mile. We do not pay subsistence rates/per diems. This budget heading is for attendance at events directly related to your research project. CARDI funds can be used to pay registration fees and actual cost of accommodation and food. We do not pay subsistence rates/per diems. We expect reports to be concise. If you decide to print them, the cost per printed report should not exceed €3.00. If you plan to launch the report the costs should be built into the budget from the beginning. A launch event should not cost more than €1,000. Distribution costs may be included in the printing contract but should not exceed €1 per report. Electronic distribution should be considered as a cost-effective method. If you have cost items that are not included above, please add them here. The total payable by CARDI will not exceed €20,000. 10
