Taking a Second Retake Procedure
Purpose
A student will normally be allowed to resit an examination only once. However, if in the opinion of
the lecturer teaching the course in question, the student’s performance in the original examination and
in a first resit does not fairly reflect his or her ability, he or she may be permitted to resit an
examination a second time. Application to be allowed a second resit should be made in writing to the
Dean and should be countersigned by the relevant lecturer.
