Sing-a-Long-a JOSEPH: Briefing for box office and ticket agents What is Sing-a-Long-a JOSEPH? Sing-a-long-a JOSEPH follows in the footsteps of the now world famous Sing-along-a Sound of Music. We start with our host leading a vocal warm up and explaining the purpose of the goody bags before introducing the screening of the recently made film of the record breaking London production of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT. On screen lyrics are burned onto the musical numbers so the whole audience can sing along! Everyone is encouraged to sing and dance as much as they like creating a unique atmosphere at every show. The film includes a host of stars including Donny Osmond as JOSEPH and Joan Collins as Mrs Potiphar. The host for the evening will lead the audience through a vocal warm up, judge a fancy dress competition, show everyone how to use their free magic moments fun pack and give them a guide to the appropriate actions including: Booing the nasty Brothers Hissing the evil Mrs Potiphar Spitting with the Camels Bleeting at the goats ‘Ahhhhhs’ for the children And, of course, cheering for Donny! The audience then watches the movie with 1000 (or however many seats the auditorium holds) other Josephs, Pharaohs, Egyptians, Shepherds and all sorts singing their hearts out during the songs! Do you have to dress up? No, dressing up is not compulsory, but is encouraged and certainly recommended. There is a fancy dress competition where the best costumes are chosen by the audience and the winner is rewarded with a small prize. The object is not the winning however, rather the experience of dressing up and the taking part! What is in the magic moments fun pack? We wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise for the audience! The pack contains four props, which are used in unison by the whole audience at key moments during the show How long is the show? The show lasts 2 hours 10 mins including an interval. When is the interval? After about 1 hour. Can we buy costumes? Not at the moment. Customers will need to make or hire their own! Is the show suitable for children? JOSEPH is a U certificate film and is suitable for all. Some of the evening performances can get a little rowdy and so may be more suitable for older children (plus the last finishing time may mean they are tired) but certainly recommend all matinees for families. Often we offer a children’s ticket price at matinees so make the customer aware of this. Where can I find out more?
