Bunnings sausage sizzle – 22 November. Can I please have some volunteers for this. It is a great opportunity for family members and friends to get to know each other. It is on a game day so if players could help set up in the morning and have friends and family to help during the day that would be great. A few hours each would help greatly. Captains Report – Round 3 1st Grade – Colin Devincentiis Facebook Join us on facebook and keep up to date with the lates news and events. Carlisle 10/111 & 4/30 defeated by – Leederville 10/176 3rd Grade – Brendan Clark Defeated Coolbinia 6/244 - 10/116 & 10/73 Outright win! Outright win! Outright win! It doesn’t happen very often so let’s celebrate it for what it is. A dominant batting display -6/224 off 63 overs (rained out at the end of first week) – Probably the best 2 day score from third grade in recent memory. The top three again doing a great job. EFTPOS is now available at the bar to purchase drinks, cash out or pay fees. A dominant bowling display – Rolling a side twice in one day, second week. 10/116 & 10/73. Everyone got in on the act and contributed to this win. Special mention should go to Jaron 76 N.O. (Also Jaron got a wicket with his first ball for the club too, after talking up his own bowling as "poo"), the skip picking up 3 wickets in the first innings and Denis picking up 3 in the second. Should also point out Denis only bowled one ball in the whole first innings and got a wicket to close out their first innings. Then the skip did the exact same thing in the second innings. Weird. I can’t stress enough though that this was definitely the best batting and bowling TEAM effort that we have put together in a while. Would have been much better if we could have taken a few more catches admittedly. But we created so many chances and bowled a great line all day that we were rewarded with a big win. To sum up the day for Coolbinia one of their blokes got first ball ducks in both innings. Rough day. 5th Grade – Cameron McShane Carlisle 10/165 – defeated Coolbinia west Perth 10/86 & 10/111 5th grade played Mt Lawley-Inglewood at Hamer Park in the first round. We lost the toss and Mt Lawley decided to bat first. Lidds and Vineeth opened the bowling, and we have a early break through with one of the openers out for a golden duck with the score 1/6. The other opener and number 3 for Mt Lawley then played well for 28 and 52 respectively. We only managed to take 5 wickets in the 40 overs, and bowled far too many sundries, 29 in total including 18 wides. Lidds bowled well but was unlucky not to take any wickets. Muda bowled well in his first game for the club finishing with 2/23 from his 8 overs. Overall fielding can definitely be improved, however there was some good signs, especially Cam Whiting’s great catch to dismiss their number 3 on 52. Social Events We are planning to have a few social events during the season. The aim is to have all the teams get together with families to get to know each other better and encourage a more family oriented club. We were left chasing 204 for victory, and our openers, Cameron Wheeler and Pete Andersson got us off to a great start, with a solid 32 run partnership before Cam was out LBW for 14. Ando went on to hit a well played 40 to top score for us, with Liam Cassidy hitting a classy 23 in his first game in the senior sides. Cam Whiting also chipped in with 19. Unfortunately our run rate fell away in the second half of the innings and we could only manage 8/140 from our 40 overs. There was some good signs to take out of the game, with the young guys and new players putting in good performances and the top order getting us off to a good start. However, we will need to work on bowling straight, and our fielding to ensure we can bowl teams out or restrict their scoring. 7th Grade – Darryl Jago Carlisle 10/154 – defeated Mt Lawley-Inglewood 8/145 A gutsy win by 7th grade, thx to R. Smith 53, D. Nelson 22 and a few other scores. We never gave up and with S. Singh 2/8 from 8 overs and D. Jago 2/12 off 8 and D. Nelson 2 wickets SKLP never looked like getting on top. Well done lads lets back it up next week. Cheers Juniors Our Milo T/20 team went to Fletcher Park last Wednesday and had a try at the competition that we will be competing in a couple of weeks. Great to see such a wonderful group of young boys go out into the park and run around, have a bat and a bowl. For the next two Wednesdays we will be practicing at Carlisle Reserve at 5pm to 6.15pm then on 27th November we will be back at Fletcher Park for our fixture games. The cost for this which includes the shirt etc is $99.00. Each Saturday we will be at Carlisle Reserve from 9.30 am to about 11 to learn the finer points of the game. We have a wonderful coach for these boys in Luke and will be assisted by the members of our club. We extend a very warm welcome to all these young lads and their parents and hope everyone has great fun. Any queries please do not hesitate to contact Elaine on 0417954414 Sponsorship
