On the same night as Kindergarten Roundup, we had a 5th and 6th grade band concert that was phenomenal. There was a competition for chairs that night (Sorry, Mr. Loden)! We are finishing up on a great I Love to Read month including a very successful Read-a-thon fundraiser that will bring new books to classrooms. And we also had a very exciting Lunar New Year performance earlier this week that showed the talents of our Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade XinXing students. I’m always impressed with how much information and skill children can memorize and apply in these situations. For some, these events are life changing and ignite passions that turn into future studies and careers. They are also confidence builders for many children, and the results extend to other areas of their lives. It’s a good reminder to me that our children have many abilities and interests that should be nurtured in addition to classroom academics. I am very impressed and proud of our students for these recent accomplishments, and I look forward to the remaining musical performances coming up this spring. Paul Domer Principal Parent Tip: When it comes to homework, sometimes it’s good to discourage perfectionism. Trying to be perfect on every assignment and test can increase stress and lead to issues of procrastination and work avoidance in the future. We want kids to enjoy school and learning for its own sake. l Follow us on: Twitter: https://twitter.com/Ike_XinXing270 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/IkeXinXing ***VOLUNTEERS PLEASE*** 1) Raffle coordination during imagination fair (March 12th) 2) Staff Conference Meal Coordination (March 16th) We need volunteers to help coordinate and plan these events.
