Junior Summer Tennis Camps Ages 4-18 JUNIOR TENNIS ACADEMY CAMP Ages 6-12 Junior Academy camp emphasizes tennis skills, strategies, and fundamentals. It is designed for Level 3 (formerly Beginners through Level 6 (formerly Junior Excellence). SCHEDULE OF CLASSES Monday – Friday 9:00am – 12:00pm SESSIONS May 31-June 3, 6-10, 13-17, 20-24, 27-July 1, 5-8, 11-15, 18-22, 25-29 MIDDLE SCHOOL CAMP Ages 10-12 (entering grades 6-8) The middle school program is for those who are relatively new to experienced in tennis. Learn to rally and play is the theme of each class. The students will be exposed to all the basic skills of tennis including ground strokes, volleys, overheads and serves. The class will stress cooperation and competition in drill and play situations. SCHEDULE OF CLASSES Monday & Wednesday 9:00-10:30am SESSIONS June 6 – June 29 (4 weeks) July 6 – July 27 (4 weeks) HIGH SCHOOL CAMP Ages 13-18 (entering grades 9-12) High School students will experience play situations and will refine their tactical/technical skills. Concepts of offense/defense will be introduced in both singles and doubles. Ball control exercises that enhance consistency, direction, depth and spin will be stressed. A variety of adaptive skills will be trained using dead ball drills, live ball drills and competitive play situations in all areas of the court. A student enrolling after the start of a session and is unable to make-up missed classes will be charged a pro-rated fee for the remainder of the session. 2. Tri-State membership is not required for Levels 1-4, Middle School, and High School lessons. 3. Fee is non-refundable except as follows: For medical disabilities, a pro-rated refund/credit shall be given from the date the refund is requested when accompanied by a doctor’s statement explaining the nature of the disability or injury and duration. A participant shall be given a pro-rated refund/credit should a class be cancelled after the start of the session. A student who does not meet the skill level requirements will be asked to change to a compatible class or will be issued a pro-rated refund or credit. If any class is cancelled, Tri-State shall make every effort to reschedule the class. If the class cannot be rescheduled, each participant shall be given a refund or credit for the cancelled class. If a participant cannot attend the rescheduled class, that student shall be given a credit or refund for the class. Only the Head Tennis Professional or Directors of the Junior Tennis Programs may approve lesson refunds, credits or pro-rated fees. 4. There is a minimum and maximum enrollment for each class. 5. A student is allowed to make-up two classes. To request a make-up please contact Don 479-3111. Make-ups do not carry over to the next session. If you schedule a make-up and need to cancel, please contact Don 48 hours in advance of the scheduled make-up. An informal environment that establishes a foundation of gross motor skill development. General athleticism is most important in this program. Basic movement and coordination with hand eye development is stressed. The children learn to send and receive the ball with hands, racquets and other adapted equipment that fosters enjoyable learning experiences. SCHEDULE OF CLASSES Tuesday - Thursday 9:00am – 10:00am Level 3 (formerly Beginners) Ages 4 - 9 Children will work on skills with a partner attempting to build a short rally. By the end of this program, a child should learn how to move effectively so as to ensure good position and balance for each shot. They will learn to adapt to different situations and to control follow-through on both the forehand and the backhand ground strokes. SCHEDULE OF CLASSES Tuesday - Thursday 9:00am – 11:00am Level 4 (formerly Advanced Beginners) Ages 6 – 9 Children will build on all that is learned in Level 3 with the focus on rallying with serves.
