Eligibility: 13- 16 Years old or under girls who are born in 1996 to 1999.
The Regional Netball 16's Academy is suitable for netballers who want to further develop their skills
and take the next step in their netball pathway. The squads will be run by the current coach of the
HK Youth Netball Team, Connie Wong (HKNA Technical Manager and a Netball Australia Level Two
accredited coach) and you will also have the chance of training alongside the best netballers in HK for
this age group. Players who performs well in the Academy may be invited to join in the National Youth
Squad as they prepare for Asian Youth Championships 2013.
Regional Academy Structure:
Two squads will run simultaneously in 2012:
Island Squad: THURSDAY evenings from 7pm to 9pm at Hong Kong Park Sports Centre
Kowloon Squad: Saturday mornings at Sham Shui Po Courts and Shek Kip Mei Sports
Centre. (Please note that the girls will have plenty of time to get to their
JNL games.)
The 'Training for All' sessions on 6th and 13th September are for ALL (both Kowloon and Island squad)
interested and registered netballers. Both squads will then have their own squad selection trial.
After the selections, only the selected players can continue to train with their respective squads.
The ‘Training for all’ sessions are not compulsory but are highly recommended for interested players.
The aim is purely to give the netballers a taste on what to expect and to have a training run before the
selection trials.
REGISTRATION PROCESS for BOTH SQUADS: Players can register on Thursday 6th
September or Thursday 13th September at 6:30pm at HK Park Sports Centre. Please
bring your COMPLETED registration form and your HKID card with you.
If players cannot make the registration dates, they have to register by mail or
fax their registration to HKNA by Thursday 13th September 2012. A copy of
your HKID card is required if registering through the mail or fax.
