Welcome To 4th Grade! Hello 4th Grade Families, It is so exciting to begin this year with you in my class! My name is Kathy Drum and although I am new to your school, I am not new to education. This will be my seventh year as a teacher of 4th grade, after teaching other grades as well. I have lived in Kansas for most of my life, but have spent many memorable years in Arizona, too. My husband is a realtor, and we have two sons and a daughter, along with three grandchildren, and a dog named Samantha. You may have heard of the Kansas Jayhawks. That’s the team that we have supported for years. Go KU!! When I researched EDUPRIZE programs, I knew that this was a place that I totally believed in the philosophy and enrichments for students. We will be integrating Science as often as possible this year. Traveling to the Rain Forest is one of my favorite units that I can hardly wait to share. To make success possible, our classroom will be established as a learning environment. Students are expected to arrive at school ready to learn, homework finished, and showing they are kids of character through their behavior. We are going to share a busy and exciting year! We will make our way through Arizona Highways, Conservation Plantation, Grand Canyon Marketplace, and Reptile Ranch cottages. I am looking forward to meeting you at OPEN HOUSE on Monday, JULY 24th at 9:30am. Our classroom is in Bldg. 2, Rm 56. (If you can’t make our scheduled time, I will be available all day from 8am-4pm). Please go online, (eduprizeschools.net) complete and print Open House Forms, which include Emergency Documents, then bring them with you on July 24th. During Open House you will get carpool information, be able to sign up for volunteer opportunities, dismissal/lining up info and meet other students from our 4th grade family. Please also bring $10 cash or check (payable EDUPRIZE) for student planner & magazine subscription. This is a perfect time to drop off supplies from the 4th grade list, too. The first day of school is WEDNESDAY, JULY 26th. As a reminder, our school day in V1 is 7:50-2:50 Monday through Thursday, with Friday hours 7:50-11:30. On the first day of school, students must be on time and present for the full day to be considered enrolled at EDUPRIZE. Throughout the summer, please make sure to check the school website for updates.
