You Draw the Guidelines

Write a list of ten guidelines for effective literary analysis and/or persuasive writing that you
have learned from our multiple workshops since the beginning of the year. These guidelines can
address language choice, thesis statements, formatting, punctuation, quotation introductions,
quotation versus inference “rules,” organization, voice/tone, point-of-view, plot vs. analysis, and
so on. Choose five of your guidelines to support with an original example from an imagined
essay (i.e., you make it up!).
Also, please read through Chapter 7 of Lord of the Flies.
