BOXING CANADA PERSONAL COACH POLICY Boxing Canada invites personal coaches of selected boxers to participate with their athletes in National Team training camps and competitions under the following circumstances: TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS: All travel and accommodation logistics shall be the responsibility of the personal coach. Contacts for hotels / accommodation and flight numbers etc. may be obtained upon request. All expenses are the responsibility of the personal coach ACCESS TO EVENT WHERE BOXING CANADA OFFICIAL TEAM STAFF IS PROVIDED: Personal coaches may have access to athletes they coach at the practice area when the practice area is not under accreditation control. Only Boxing Canada official team staff is allowed to work the corner in a Boxing Canada sanctioned event. Personal coaches may communicate with athletes they coach at the competition site in any spectator area or at the barrier separating athletes and spectators. The Official National Team staff will represent the boxer in all situations requiring an agent. All final decisions regarding the team - including time and organization of training - are the responsibility of the Official National Team staff and ultimately the Head Coach. Personal coaches may communicate and socialize with boxers they coach in any public areas including hotels, restaurants, shops, etc. Tickets / seating for the competition are the personal coach’s responsibility. (In some cases Boxing Canada’s might help might) BOXING CANADA PERSONAL COACH POLICY ACCESS TO EVENT WHEN THERE IS NO BOXING CANADA OFFICAL TEAM STAFF PROVIDED: It is possible that a coach can receive accreditation for an international event if there is no team staff provided or available. The following policies outline guidelines within this scenario. Requests for coach’s accreditation MUST BE REQUESTED BY THE BOXER not the personal coach. In order for the personal coach to be approved for the purchase of an accreditation, the following must ALL apply: 1. A specific boxer must officially request the presence of the coach. (see annex #2) 2. Accreditations must be available for that event. 3. Coach must agree to pay all fees associated with the accreditation. 4. Coach must be endorsed by the team High Performance/Head Coach and Boxing Canada. 5. Coach must be a Boxing Canada member in good standing 6. Coach must sign a release of liability as well as agree to Boxing Canada’s Code of Conduct policies. 7. Coach must conform to all Boxing Canada uniform requirements, including purchasing team uniforms at the coach’s expense. 8. Coach must meet the Boxing Canada and AIBA requirement for traveling with the National Team for AIBA sanctioned event. (see Annex 1) 9. Coach must be a member of Coaches of Canada. (http://www.coachesofcanada.com) Any personal coach in the field of play must have an accreditation and team uniform. All requests and purchases of accreditations must be completed prior to the trip with approval from Boxing Canada. No onsite accreditation purchases are allowed. Note: All requests might not be granted nor guaranteed. Boxing Canada may not be able to secure the requested accreditations or access to team accommodation. Boxing Canada will confirm all requests individually.
