Head-to-head:
This is the seventh of ten meetings on the season between the Wolf Pack and the Providence Bruins, top affiliate of the Boston Bruins, the
third of five visits by the P-Bruins to the XL Center and the first of three straight games in the season series here in Hartford. The Wolf Pack
are 2-3-0-1 thus far vs. the Bruins, and have a 4-3 shootout win November 20 and a 3-2 defeat December 27 to show for two previous home
games in the series. The Wolf Pack are 7-1-1-0 in the last nine XL Center games between the two teams. Providence rookie Peter Cehlarik
is the leading scorer in this year’s season series, with 3-4-7, and Mat Bodie tops Wolf Pack scorers with 2-2-4. In the all-time series vs.

Wolf Pack Notebook:
The Wolf Pack’s (15-24-3-2, 35 pts., .398) last action was a 3-2 shootout loss at Bridgeport last night. Matt Carey tied the game for Hartford
on a power play with 4:48 left in the third period, scoring for a second straight game, after Chris Brown had notched his third marker in the
last three games 2:08 into the contest. Mat Bodie assisted on Carey’s goal, giving Bodie a three-game points streak (2-5-7) and at least a
point in seven of his last eight games (2-9-11). Nicklas Jensen also had an assist, stretching a point-scoring streak to four games (1-3-4).
Magnus Hellberg made 22 saves, in his first AHL action in two weeks. With a 1-for-3 performance last night, the Wolf Pack power play is 6for-12 in the last three games and 10-for-26 in the last eight.
Bruins Notebook:
The Bruins (25-11-5-3, 58 pts., .659) battled back from an early 2-0 deficit at home against Hershey last night, to post a 3-2 shootout win. That
snapped a two-game losing streak (0-1-1-0) for Providence, which has lost only six times in regulation in its last 31 games (21-6-2-2). Wayne
Simpson scored a first-period goal last night for the Bruins, and captain Tommy Cross tied the game with 32 seconds remaining in the
second. Jordan Szwarz (10-22-32 in 40 GP) assisted on both goals, to stay one point ahead of Simpson (13-18-31 in 44 GP) and Peter
Cehlarik (18-13-31 in 38 GP) for the team points lead. Zane McIntyre got the win in net with 32 saves, to go to 11-0-0 on the season, in his
first AHL appearance since December 30. The Bruins went 3-for-3 in last night’s shootout, with Cehlarik, Szwarz and Alex Grant all scoring.
