The long-term aim of this role will be to maximize the commercial potential of Recovery Central as: A hub of creative social enterprise activity, where the recovery community develops A Conference Centre, including hospitality and banqueting facilities A Community Centre with a cafe and dry bar The Recovery Central Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development of new and existing social enterprises, the surpluses of which will be returned to Changes UK to finance the delivery of its care services, supporting people in abstinence based recovery from addiction. Key job responsibilities and duties: 1. Supporting the development of new social enterprises, from exploring initial ideas through to delivery in the marketplace. 2. Supporting the development of all Changes UK’s existing social enterprises, ensuring quality of work and maximising income 3. Providing analysis – including feasibility information – about new ideas for social enterprises 4. Providing advice on small business development, funding and sponsorship opportunities as appropriate 5. Agreeing and supporting the management of financial planning, business strategies and marketing strategies 6. 7. 8. 9. Preparing and presenting reports to the Chief Executive, the Board of Trustees and funding bodies as required Keeping statistical and financial reports Assessing and improving profitability Liaising with customers, employees, volunteers, suppliers and sales representatives. Qualifications and Experience Required Successful candidate will have a relevant degree or experience in business development, but most of all you MUST have hands on experience and share passion for supporting/developing/establishing small businesses and/or social enterprises. Experience in marketing, communication, business planning, strategy and finance planning is essential. We are looking for an experienced and innovative manager, who will be used to provide much needed specialist services for people in Birmingham and Solihull seeking to build new lives free from addiction. You will need to be a confident communicator, who is not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in, whilst proven leadership experience and skills are essential.
