Finishing and transition

Activity 1
Coerver exercise to goal
Two goals plus keepers.
Area: width of the penalty
area x 30.
Each player has a ball.
Players dribble at each other,
perform the same move,
then finish on goal. Work
both feet and different
moves.
Activity 2
1 vs 1 transition
Two goals plus keepers.
Area: width of the penalty
box x 30.
Each player has a ball.
The first red player dribbles
and takes a shot. As soon as
the shot is taken, the first
white player takes off on a
dribble and looks to score.
The first red player has
transitioned from offense to
defense. As soon as the white
player has taken his shot, the
next red player takes off and
the white player defends.
Quick transition from offense
to defense.
Activity 3
2 vs 2 transition
Two goals plus keepers.
Area: same as above.
Two equal teams.
2 vs 2 on the field. You knock
the other pair off the field
when you score a goal. When
you get scored on you jog off
the field and the next pair
quickly steps on the field –
with the next ball.
You also knock the other pair
off the field if a shot misses
the goal. The player who
missed the shot must chase
the ball, so the new pair
coming in has a 2 vs 1
opportunity.
Activity 4
3 vs 3 transition
Two goals plus keepers.
Area: same as above.
Two equal teams.
Same game as above, now 3
vs 3. Less time and space.
Quicker decisions and
actions.
Activity 5
4 vs 4 with targets
Cool down
Two goals plus keepers.
Area: same as above.
Three equal teams.
Three teams of 4 players.
Two teams are playing and
the third team functions as
‘walls’ on the end lines. Four
minute games then rotate.
Every time you win a game
you earn a point.
