Optical Switches
The Sercalo Switches are fast, latching/non-latching able to work in the most demanding applications in
fiber optic communication networks. The main benefit of Sercalo Switches are solid state reliability,
accurate precision and fast response time. They are available in single mode and multi-mode variants.
The miniature package withstands rugged environments and is well suited for direct mounting on printed
circuit boards. The switch is qualified according to Telcordia GR 1221.

Range
SW Series
The SW series are fast, non-latching MEMS switches available both for
single mode and multimode fibers. They are available in configurations
from 1x2 to 1x36. These switches are mainly used in test and
measurement applications.
The MEMS switching structure achieves repeatability of 0.001 dB and
doesn’t show wear out. They are able to work over the full wavelength
range of the fiber used.

SX Series – Miniature Fiber Optic MEMS Switch
The sercalo sx series are miniature opto-mechanical switches for fiber optic communication
systems and submodules. The switch is available in latching or nonlatching variants, with 1x1,
2x1 or 2x2 architecture. The switch offers very small size, ease of integration and the
established solid state reliability of Sercalo’s MEMS components.
The plastic package is one of the smallest in the industry. It is optimized for low cost
production while maintaining highest reliability comparable to a solid statedevice. The
component is designed to exceed Telcordia 1221 quality standards.

SL/SLTS Series
The sl series are opto-mechanical latching switches for the most demanding applications in
fiber optic communication networks. The switch is available in 1x1, 2x1 , 2x2, 1x4 and 1x8
variants and offers solid state reliability, accurate precision and fast response time. The switch
mechanism is latching and has a very fast response
time below 1 ms and only 0.5 dB insertion loss.
In the SLTS variant the switch comes with a built in position monitor to sense the state of the
switch. The component is designed to exceed Telcordia 1221 quality standards.

SL Series
The SL series are fast, latching MEMS switches. They maintain the last
switching state after power is removed (optional position monitor is
available). They are available in configurations 1x2, 2x2, 1x4 and 1x8 with a
variety of driver options and a capacitive position sensor. The SL switches
are the best choice where highest reliability and self test capability are
required.
