Where are We Going this Weekend.

Where are We Going?
“ Movements Everywhere ”
Why do we do what we do?
WHAT’s UNIQUE ABOUT CRU?
We want “Movements” not Clubs or Fellowships
We focus movements on “Win-Build-Send.”
We want to be on the offense for Jesus vs.
just on the defense - Not just protecting ourselves.
We avoid barriers keeping us from being a movement.
We believe that everyone has the potential to be used
of God in significant ways.
WHO ARE WE? &
WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO?
____________________________
What is our (CCC) role?
What has God called us to focus on
within the Body of Christ?
CALLING AND DISTINCTIVES
CALLING & DISTINCTIVES
_______________________________________________________________
Movement vs. Club – What’s the
difference?
Being on the Defense vs.
Being on the Offense (without being offensive)
How do we be who God called us to be?
Are these two the same?
Central Strategy – Win-Build-Send
“Win” – evangelism – seeing new citizens!
Acts 1:8a
“Build” – discipleship, mentoring, growt
2 Timothy 2:2
“Send” – inviting believers to join in the
harvest Acts 1:8b, Mth.28:19-20
It’s not a CCC distinctive, this is BIBLICAL!
What Makes W-B-S a “CCC thing?”
BALANCE
We are totally committed to each aspect.
FOCUS & INTENSITY
We tend to avoid anything that would not
lend itself to enhancing our ability to live in
our calling and distinctives
Why the University?

In the best setting to be able to SEND
( The Availability over Age Graph )
Campus Ministry . . . A Comparison
Forms of ministry and a look at the
Inherent W-B-S Strengths & Weaknesses
Orphanage Ministry – A great thing.
WIN – Weak – few opportunities
BUILD – A real strength!
SEND – Weak – few opportunities
A Radio Ministry – A great thing.
WIN – Potentially Strong – with the right methods
BUILD – Potentially Strong – with the right methods
SEND – Weak – few opportunities, little interaction
What about a CAMPUS MINISTRY?
Campus Ministry . . . A Comparison
WIN –
This is the big “IF!”
It is THE question mark &
potentially the WEAKEST LINK.
BUILD – Usually fairly good, but there’s an “IF!!”
SEND
–
The very best location!
Even most staff don’t realize it, but . . .
as evangelism goes, so goes the
movement.
WIN – BUILD - SEND
How do we do “win?”
In light of . . . “win-build-send.”

In order to have Movements Everywhere . . .
WIN – BUILD - SEND
To have “Movements Everywhere” . . .
We MUST have . . . AT LEAST . . . ! ! !
A SOLID MOVEMENT . . .
SOMEWHERE
Or . . .
We will have . . .
“Movements No-where”
Discipleship - CHALLENGING
PEOPLE in GROWTH ENVIRONMENTS
Our goal as Christian leaders is not . . .
- to fill rooms with people
who only want to sit,
- to let people be safe
in a cruel non-Christian world,
- to give believers excuses
to not share their faith.
Discipleship -
RATHER . . .
Our goal as Christian leaders is to . . .
- to encourage “sitting people” to change,
filling movements with people “not sitting”
- help equip believers to confront the world
and have the tools & faith to change it
- to help believers see and know that
sharing the Gospel and growing in
Jesus . . . is the most exciting
thing they could ever do.
Discipleship -
What a Challenging Growth

Discipleship -
What is found in a
“Great Environment?”
“Winning” (evangelism) that is not paralyzed,
but is first bold and then clear.
“Building” (discipleship) that focuses on
- helping people love Jesus more
- and getting them equipped and ready
to be on the offense for Jesus.
A “Sending” emphasis that lets disciples know
that God wants to use them here
AND around the whole world.
The application of great training!
Discipleship -
What is found in
“Great Training?”
Teaching that helps equip people to be
committed, bold and clear evangelists
Teaching that helps people
love and grow in Christ
while being on the offense for Jesus
Giving opportunities
to apply and use their training
on a regular basis . . . both
here and around the whole world.
Discipleship - GETTING USED by GOD
The greatest paralysis in the Christian world
Lack of Faith. (leads to sin and stagnation)
What does this mean?
People don’t believe that God is able to
love them or of using them, because of
- Their sin
- Their imperfection and past
- Fear of what God might do.
Our problem as leaders – Cynicism & doubt regarding
people.
THE JOY of BEING USED BY GOD
There are not many things that will change
a believer’s life like . . .
Being used by God
We are happiest when we are in God’s will . . .
God’s will for us is . . .
to know Him
and to have the privilege
of serving Him in His plans
AS LEADERS . . . WE MUST PROVIDE REAL SITUATIONS
WHERE THIS CAN OCCUR!
Example of . . . Types of . . .
DOING Win – Build - Send . . . with Continuity
How?
“Conceptual Continuity”
This is the ability to persistently apply . . .
continuous philosophical thinking and plans
that will flow throughout the whole range
of ministry,
which result in more consistent
quality and results in movement ministry.
We want to avoid “being disjointed.”
What is a Conceptually Contiguous Movement?
How do we achieve a consistent ministry?
In our “Win” phase of movement ministry . . .
We do it in light of “win-build-send.”
In our “Build” phase of movement ministry . . .
We do it in light of “win-build-send.”
In our “Send” phase of movement ministry . . .
We do it in light of “win-build-send.”
DOING “WIN”
in light of “Win-Build-Send”
WIN
Win
- We do “real” evangelism.
Build
- We disciple using evangelism.
- We just don’t talk about it. - We take disciples sharing.
- We don’t get paralyzed.
- We learn how to do evangelism by actually doing it.
- We do evangelism in
multiple different ways.
- We don’t consider a person
as “discipled” unless they can
share their faith effectively.
- We become students of the
Gospel and of evangelism.
Send
- We look for opportunities to involve
our disciples in
evangelism. Both
where they live and
in places out of their
comfort zone.
- We learn “culture,”
but in the context of
doing evangelism.
DOING “BUILD”
in light of “Win-Build-Send”
BUILD
Win
- We spend time sharing
with people by taking
disciples with us.
Build
- We pour our lives into people.
