Dear Rammers,
We are two games into the season and there is many positives at hand – To see our U/19’s sing the
song with gusto was a great sight, they were unlucky the previous week when they lost a quarter
with a strong breeze as the game was delayed due to injury. Seniors were much improved last week
and the reserves are also playing some great football in patches. The feeling around the club is
much better and wins will come, we need to be patient as the new list needs time to gell.
You will see many changes to the Sporting club over the next few months as Mark Cornehls has
appointed Bridie as the new bar manager, and along with Tony who is working out of the kitchen will
be providing meals after the home games. So make sure you stay and sample what he has on the
menu, he will be in attendance this week Vs Heathmont. Over time we are looking to spruce up the
facilities downstairs and upstairs.
The Website is being well utilised now with Gary Winder making weekly updates so make sure you
are continually looking for new items around the club. https://eastburwoodfc.com.au/news
Merchandise – Adam Williamson and Maddy Storey manned the tent for the full day last week with
great success Make sure you get along and purchase a jacket, polo or even a stubbie holder.
I urge all supporters to get behind our boys this week at Rams Stadium Vs Heathmont this week and
after the game share a drink in the club rooms.

Match Report Seniors – Wayne Cripps
The one that got away, that's what the feeling was after the game. A really positive first half where
we felt like we were in control, yet we just didn't get enough reward for effort and gifted them goals
through silly free kicks. Chirnside Park was able to get on top of us in the 3rd quarter and because
we weren't able to get enough scoreboard separation in the first half, they were able to create a 3
goal buffer at the last break.
Was really proud of the effort from the players as they fought their way back into the contest, but
just couldn't get over the line. Many positives to come out of the game and we look forward to the
challenge of Heathmont this weekend.
Match report Reserves - Robbie Ward
Taking on Chirnside Park today who were coming off a low scoring victory over Warrandyte last
week we knew they were going to be a tough side. We had a good side in today again with some of
the U/19’s putting their hand up to fill up the numbers for us. We started slowly with the wind and
the boys were a bit flat with Chirnside jumping us to get the early lead. We managed to steady late
and went into the first change 5 points down. Pushing into the breeze in the second we did not use
the football well and rushed our disposal with our turnovers being extremely costly with Chirnside
kicking 4 goals to 1. At the halftime break we had to reassess and threw the side around a little to
create some run and become more dangerous in the forward half.
The second half was a much better effort with our midfield group getting right on top lead by Adam
Daley, Jack Wensley and Andrew Pudney. In the forward half Robbie Kerr became a nice target along
with Yani Billias getting on the end of a couple and finishing with 5 goals for the day. Our tackling
and aggression at the football in the second half was evident and this allowed us to find space and
move the football much faster. I was wrapped with our setup and structure particularly in the
second half and it just shows when we play the way we want to we will be a dangerous football side.
Notable performances also to Jake Mulqueen who provided some great run moving into defense
after the main break along with Mitchell & Luke Bevan and Ben Van Stratum who provided Puds
with some welcome relief in the ruck, hopefully these 3 boys are able to continue playing and look
forward to some more improvement next week for this young group.
