When being chased, can you ‘feint’ and ‘trick’ your opponent into thinking you’re going to move one way before accelerating away in the opposite direction. When defending: react quickly to the movement of the players you are chasing. Work as a team to deceive and evade taggers. Taggers to work as a team to catch the attackers-denying space and isolating individuals. Introduce ball for everyone. Remove balls leaving a ball per group. Catchers can only catcher players who are in possession of the ball. DRIBBLING AND RUNNING WITH THE BALL Key Coaching Points Players should look to make movements into space to receive the ball. Players should look to receive the ball with a positive first touch into space. Players should look to run with the ball with speed and control towards the ‘end zone’. Players off the ball should look to find positions where they can support the players in possession. Players with the ball should look to run with the ball to draw defenders to create space for the team mates who can receive the ball. DRIBBLING AND PASSING Key Coaching Points Recognition of potential passing options when the central attacker player takes the ball-on towards goal. Drawing defender and moving with the ball to create space for others to receive passes. Delivering balls to supporting players and weighting passes into space for team mates to run onto.
