LOVE
LANGUAGES
“…Speaking in tongues of men and of angels…”
(1 Corinthians 13:1)
“…Mysteries and all spiritual knowledge…”
(1 Corinthians 13:2)
“…Faith that can move mountains…”
(1 Corinthians 13:2)
“Giving all that I possess to the poor and surrendering
my body to the flames…”
(1 Corinthians 13:3)
But if I am not learning your love language and loving
you in your preferred way, I am just a lot of noise.
“…A clanging cymbal…”
(1 Corinthians 13:1)
a very hollow person.
“…nothing…”
(1 Corinthians 1:2; 3)
“charisma without character is
catastrophic.”
Peter Kuzmic
A love in the fresh rendering of Eugene
Peterson, that “…That cares more for
others than self… That doesn’t want what
it doesn’t have… That doesn’t strut… That
doesn’t have a swelled head… That doesn’t
force itself on others… That isn’t always
‘me first’… That doesn’t fly off the
handle…”
That doesn’t keep score of the sins of
others… That doesn’t revel when others
grovel… That takes pleasure in the
flowering of truth… That puts up with
anything... That trusts God always… That
always looks for the best… That never looks
back… That keeps going to the end…”
(1 Corinthians 13:4-7, The Message)
Just like Jesus.

We don’t see things clearly, much like “…A
poor reflection in a mirror”
(1 Corinthians 13:12)
Trust steadily in God,
Hope unswervingly,
Love extravagantly.
And the best of the three is love, and its
voice and language.
