1. Encourage Involvement. Share the benefits of NTHS with
colleagues to reach all career and technical students who
deserve to be recognized and honored.
2. Connect with Community Leaders. Honor your Advisory
Board and B&I leaders at your induction ceremony. Honorary
NTHS memberships bring community leaders face to face with
your top students and promote internship and employment
opportunities for them.
3. Show Purple Pride during Career/Tech Week. Have fun!
Encourage members to create NTHS banners and displays for
campus tours and open house events.
4. Utilize School Website. List NTHS under ‘Clubs and
Organizations” on your school’s website.
5. Sponsor a Contest. Peer encouragement is the best carrot on a
stick to recruit new members. Hold a contest to build your
chapter. The member who recruits the most new members, gets
the carrot!
6. Be the News. Invite media to your events, send press releases,
keep chapter website up-to-date, post events, kudos and news
about your members. Facebook, Twitter, etc. are effective
avenues to gain recognition.
7. Take Photos. Capture winning moments in pictures.
Document your chapter’s events and individual member
achievements. The students will appreciate building a portfolio
as they enter college and the workforce.
8. Keep Us in the Loop. We love to hear from you! Send Carol
and Wendy articles, photos, and testimonials, which are also
wonderful treasures for portfolio items and heartfelt memories.
