Boys' Asst. Coach (Varsity/JV). Available: ASAP.
St. George’s Independent School is seeking two assistant coaches – one for their varsity boys' lacrosse
team and one for their junior varsity boys' lacrosse team. The ideal candidate will have prior
experience coaching at the high school level and playing at the collegiate level, ideally. In general, the
school seeks an enthusiastic individual who enjoys working with high schoolers and teaching the sport
of lacrosse.
Ideally, the responsibilities of the assistant coaches will include collaborating and implementing
practice plans with the head coach, developing game strategy with the head coach, assisting with team
and player statistics by watching film, and maintaining the philosophy and values of St. George’s and
the Athletic Department therein.
The varsity and JV teams will have practices and games 5-6 days a week, excluding Sundays. Practices
will typically run from 4:00-6:00 p.m., and coaches can expect to spend 12-15 hours each week working
with the team and/or other coaches. The varsity and JV teams hold off-season and pre-season
workouts throughout the school year, and any coach is welcome to assist with these endeavors as their
schedule allows. However, the lacrosse season does begin in mid-February, and any assistant coach
would be asked to make themselves available at this start date. No specific expertise in the way of
offense, defense, face-offs, or goalie coaching is required for this position. The current St. George’s
lacrosse coaches will work to accommodate your expertise in whatever area of the game you feel most
knowledgeable or impactful.
