Achievements of Basketball Team
BASKETBALL TEAM 2012-2013
 Runners up in the M.G. University Intercollegiate Basketball Championship held at
Alphonsa College ,Pala on 19th & 20th of September 2012,
 Winners in the Women’s State championship held at Trivandrum, on 6th and 7th of
November ,2012.
 Runners up in the 32nd South India Inter Collegiate Basketball tournament for
Baselius Trophy held at Kottayam on 11th and 12th of December 2012,
 Winner’s in the 19th Rev. Sr. Redempta memorial All Kerala Basketball
tournament held in our college, from 25th -28thof Februvry 2013.
 Winner’s in the Fr. Bartholomew Memorial All Kerala Inter collegiate Basketball
tournament held at S H College , Thevara from 15th -17th of March 2013.
 Winners in the UC Trophy Basketball Tournament held at UC College Aluva.
 Runner’s up in the All India Invitation Basketball tournament held at Kannur,
form 6th – 8th of April 2013.
Participted in the following tournaments
 Golden Jubilee All Kerala Inter collegiate Basketball tournament at
Changanaserry.
 Senior State Basketball Championship held at Manjeri, Malappuram
 Champions Trophy All Kerala Inter Collegiate Basketball championship at
Kothamangalam,
 YMCA All Kerala Inter Collegiate Basketball tournament held atAlappuzha.
 All Kerala Inter Collegiate Basketball tournament held at Women’s College,
Trivandrum.
Basketball Players Achievements
 Libina M J, Shruthy Rameshan, Chippy Mathew, and Annat George represented
M G University and participated in the South –West Zone Basketball
Championship held at Annamali University , from 4th -10th of November 2012.
LIBINA M J
 Libina M J, participated in the Senior National Basketball championship held at
Ludhiana, Punjab from 29th December 2012 -6th January 2013. Also member of
Winning Kerala Team for the South Zone Basketball Championship held at
Hyderabad.
 Kum. Angel C Varghese, Kum Anju Mathew and Kum Bisha Eappen , represented
Kerala State for the Women’s National Basketball championship, held at Orissa on
22nd to 29th of November 2012.
Achievements of Volleyball Team
COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL TEAM 2012-13
 Our college Volleyball team participated in various All Kerala open tournaments
held at Pathanamthitta, Athani, and Palakkad .
 Runners up in the Ernakulam District Women’s Volleyball championship held at
Kadavanthra .
 Runners up in the Ernakulam District Youth Volleyball championship held at
Palarivattom.
 Winners in the Exhibition match played against St.Teresas College, Ernakulam,
at Kalady and Paravur.
 Runners up in the First Interclub Volleyball championship held at Kadavanthra,
organized by Rotary Club, Palarivattom.
 Runners up in the 69th Fr. Barthalomew Memorial All Kerala Inter collegiate
Volleyball tournament held at S H College, Thevara.
Volleyball Players Achievement
 Kum. Anjaly Ayyappan were the member of the M G University team for the All
India Interuniversity Volleyball Championship which secured Second place in the
All India Interuniversity Volleyball Championship held at Varanasi ,Andrapradesh.
 Kum Anjaly Ayyappan were the member of the Ernakulam District Volleyball
team for the State championship held at Wayanad.
Achievements of Netball Team

Runners up in the M.G. University Intercollegiate Net ball Championship at
Changanaserry on 15th and 16th of January 2013.

 Ms .Shruthy Rameshan, Ms Angel C Varghese ,Ms Chippy Mathew ,Ms Praisymol
P George , and Ms Annat George, got selection to the M G University Netball
team.
Kabaddi Teams achievements
 Participated in the M G University Kabaddi Championship held at SNM College,
Maliyankkara on 12th and 13th of February 2013.

 Ms .Anjitha K M of I DC Malayalam got selection to the M G University team.
Ciricket Team
Our college Cricket team participated in the M G University Cricket championship held at
U C College Aluva on 11th -13 th of March 2013 and secured 4th place.

 Swimming competetions of this year were held at L N C P E Trivandrum on 23rd
and 24th of September 201
 Emilda P Raju. Rima Bhuvendren, Esther P Raju and Athulya K M were the
participants for the Swimming competitions. Emilda P Raju and Esther P Raju
secured the following Medals.

Tournaments organised
The Department of Physical Education organized the 19th Msgr. Augustine
Maveli Memorial All Kerala Inter Collegiate Volleyball tournament and 19th Rev.
Sr. Redempta Memorial All Kerala Inter Intercollegiate Basketball tournaments
from 25th -28th of February 2013. Various teams from different parts of Kerala
participated in the championship. Shri.Anish Paul, Vice President of our PTA,
inaugurated the Volleyball championship.
Assumption College, Changanaserry
was the Champions and the Runners up trophy secured by Alphonsa College.
Basketball tournament commenced on 27th February 2013 and it was inaugurated
by Mr. JayaKrishnan , S Circle Inspector of Police, Aluva circle. Our college
Basket ball team lifted the trophy defeating Providence College Kozhikode, in the
finals. In the valedictory function, Adv. Jomon P Varghese, National Badminton
player , at present working in High Court of Kerala, gave away the prizes to the
winners. Ms. Chippy Mathew was selected as the best player of the tournament.
