Ward 24 REASONS: Ward Sister, Emma, and her team have been

Ward 24
REASONS:
Ward Sister, Emma, and her team have been nominated for the care delivered to Geraldine
Edwards’ cousin, who was an in-patient on Ward 24 for almost two months. Her cousin has
complex healthcare needs and required a considerable amount of input from the ward
team. Emma is fairly new in post, but has demonstrated the Trust values in all that she does.
As an individual she is always approachable and offers support and a welcoming smile no
matter what the pressures on her may be at that time.
Emma and her team worked effectively together and had a huge impact on Geraldine’s
cousin’s recovery and safe discharge. The ward has had a requirement to use agency nursing
staff and the permanent care staff have gone the extra mile to ensure that care is delivered
in accordance with the Trust values. The ward team deserves recognition for their continued
hard work in making such a positive difference to patients. This extends to all of the ward
team including the housekeepers who too did their best to impact on a positive stay.
