Project Round
Details
• On AC2017 Day 2, you will set-up a booth and
present a discussion of the question to judges. In
this segment, you are to set-up an exhibition to
elaborate more about your topic in deeper depth,
which your team might not have conveyed in the
video.
• Deeper depth refers to additional info, interesting
information
• You may wish to use any form of visual and audio
aids that you deem appropriate for the discussion.

• Last year feedback: Judges will TRY to be
familiar with your presentations.
• To assist, you may take some time to quickly
summarise the main ideas required for your
further elaboration.
• What is not expected of you:
• Repeat and vomit the same thing from video
• Regurgitate information
• Talking to your phone screens, paper/poster
(engage the judges!)

• On the day itself, you will be allocated a
table and a chair.
• Powerpoint is not available, you may
request but subject to approval.
• Hence please charge your laptops if needed in
advance
• Judges will be moving around, so do be
patient and wait for your turn.

Part I: Telescope Set-up
• You’ll have to setup and align your
telescope finder properly.
• When you are ready, inform the QM and
he/she will check the alignment and setup
• QM will sign and comment on the mark
sheet

Part II: Boresighting
• At a specific preannounced time,
each individual in the team will
have to boresight a target
• You’ll attempt to centre an object in the
eyepiece field of view without the aid of a
finder
• All teams will start at the same time
• Each individual gets 2 attempts, after
each attempt, the QM will look into the
eyepiece first, followed by the student.

Part II: Boresighting
• If the object is not in the field of
view after the first attempt, the
student may use the finder in the
second attempt.
• Teams may no proceed to Parts II
and IV until all its members have
cleared this round.

Part III: Thematic Objects
• A list of objects/object descriptions
(and your observation log sheets)
will be given to you after
completion of Part II. Each object is
worth 4%.
• Upon finding the object, QM will
verify and countersign the list.
• Reference materials may be used
from this point onwards.
Part IV: FFA
• Teams may find any object that desire
in the specified list.
