PARADOXES OF THE CROSS
Christ came to Earth that we might go to Heaven
“This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation,
that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of
whom I am chief” (1 Tim. 1:15)
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God,
believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many
mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to
prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place
for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself;
that where I am, there ye may be also” (Jn. 14:1-3)
PARADOXES OF THE CROSS
Christ was born in the flesh that we might be born
of the Spirit.
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among
us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only
begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth”
(Jn. 1:14)
“Jesus answered, Verily, verily I say unto thee,
except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he
Cannot enter into the Kingdom of God” (Jn. 3:5)
PARADOXES OF THE CROSS
Christ accepted poverty that we might be rich.
“For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
that though he was rich, yet for your sakes He
became poor, that ye through His poverty might be
rich” (2 Cor. 8:9)
PARADOXES OF THE CROSS
Christ was rejected by mankind that we may be
accepted by God.
“He came unto His own, and His own received
Him not. But as many as received Him, to them
gave He power to become the sons of God, even to
them that believe on His name” (Jn. 1:11-12)
PARADOXES OF THE CROSS
Christ died that we may live.
“And He said unto them, Thus it is written, and
thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from
the dead the third day” (Lk. 24:46)
“And you, being dead in your sins and the
uncircumcision of your flesh, hath He quickened
together with Him, having forgiven you all
trespasses” (Col. 2:13)
