North Canterbury JAB Rep Player Development days
Open invite to all 2016 NC Rep players and potential North Canterbury JAB Representative players from
U11.5 to U18 grade
As part of developing the NC JAB Rep programme and providing more rep/ player development
opportunities for our players we are looking to run monthly rep player development sessions for players
eligible for the U11 to U18 grades (including the U48kg & U65kg weight grades) leading up to the
selection of our rep squads for the July/August rep programmes. These sessions are intended for all 2016
NC Rep players or players nominated by their coaches as having rep level potential.
The focus of the sessions will be on coaching and informing the players on the more specific skills and
knowledge regarding each position that they play in rather than just having forwards and backs type
sessions In addition the session will also cover playing units and skills along with specific skill development
sessions. These sessions will also give the NC Rep coaches the chance to get to know players and to explain
their plans and focus areas for their teams prior to selecting their final squads.
The basic arrangements are:
* 4 sessions held on Sunday 26th of March, 30th of April,21st of May & 25th of June
* Sessions will be 90 mins -120 mins in duration – with U11to -U14 from 10.30 to 12.30 and U15 to U18
from 1.00pm to 3.00pm
* Venues are : 26th of March - Woodend RFC
30th of April - Amberley RFC
21st of May - Ashley RFC
25th of June - Kaiapoi RFC to be confirmed
* Positions/Subgroups to be coached are - Front Row, Locks, Loose Forwards, Inside Backs, Midfield
Backs, Outside Backs
* Specialist Coaches will work with each group to facilitate session and share ideas around the sub/micro
skills involved.
* We aim to have a number of specialist resource coaches at each session
These sessions are intended to compliment your club programmes and to enhance every players skill-set
and game awareness/knowledge as well as maximise players opportunities to develop and gain rep
selection. These session are intended to compliment club trainings so please look at this as a development
opportunity for your players and promote for them to attend.
