The majority of the time you are expected to pay the price the item is listed for. So when you are on the hunt to negotiate prices for electronic items or even items for your home a website you should visit is Liquidation.com. Liquidation.com is a website that offers a place where professionals can buy and sell commercial surplus inventory and government surplus assets in an online environment. Bulk lots are sold by the truckload, pallet, or small package, and conditions range from new in a box to customer returns. You then bid on these lots and if you are the highest bidder at the end of the auction, you will win that auction for the price of your bid. How to Bid on Liquidation.com In order to bid and buy auctions on Liquidation.com you will need to start by creating a free account. Creating an account is easy. Once your account is created you will want to fill out your profile completely which will assist you in winning auctions. You can begin browsing the site by either selecting a category from the drop down menu or typing keywords into the search box at the top of the site. For this example, I am going to search for “laptops” and I am going to choose “refurbished” under the condition category. As you will see in the image below it will populate auctions based on the options you choose in the menu bar at the top. In the image below you can see a lot of 4 Acer Laptops priced at $895.00 with the auction ending today at 12:00 PM. The retail value of the laptops is $1,927.97 which means if you win this auction at the $895 price, you are saving yourself over $1,000.00! Once you find an auction you want to bid on you will click on the blue link and be sent to the page. When you scroll down on the page you will find out detailed information about the lot you are bidding on, the quantity included, the condition of the items, and any other information about the seller and the lot itself. Make sure you familiarize yourself with these terms as bidding is a binding contract. Once you have bid on an auction it’s all about watching and waiting. If you are outbid by another buyer, you will be notified via email to the email address you used upon registering. You can then decide whether you want to outbid that buyer or move onto a different auction. If you win a bid you will receive an email notifying you of your win and how to complete your payment to receive your lot of items. Overall, the bidding process is easy and clear cut. As I mentioned earlier you will want to ensure you familiarize yourself with each and every lot you bid on BEFORE you bid. By doing this you can ensure you can afford your bid and there will not be any surprises. Tips for Winning Bids Now that you know how to bid on Liquidation.com I thought I would provide you with some tips on how to win bids. 1. Set a budget. By doing so, you will ensure you can afford auctions and if any money is left over from your previous purchase you will be able to bid on other auctions. 2. It’s the same for bids. Start with the minimum allowed bid and work your way up until you reach your max budget. It gives you some wiggle room in case you are outbid. 3. Check your bid and email frequently. If the lot you bid on is something you really want you want to make sure you are not being outbid. The best way to do this is to know if you are so watch the auction and your email frequently. 4. Utilize the “buy now” option when it is an item you really want and when that option is available. This allows you to immediately purchase the item without the process of bidding.
