TENNIS
THE SPORT TENNIS
Tennis was first in the modern Olympics in 1896.
Then it denied from the Olympics in 1924. After
that it returned 64 years later.
 Every country has to put in twelve athletes, six
women and six men.

FIELD PLAY
The court is 23,77m long and 8.23m wide for the
singles.
 For the doubles the court length is the same and
is 10.97m wide.
 The court is divided in half by a net.

HOW TO PLAY TENNIS
Players hit a ball to the opponents side of the net.
The point is to score points so that the ball does
not return to your side of the net within the
boundary lines.
 The first three points in tennis is scored as 15,
30, and 40. Then if you get the next pint you win.
If it is tied on 40 it is called deuce. To win the
deuce you must get the next two points.
 Matches are best of three, but in the men’s single
final it is then the best out of five.

SOME INFORMATION OF TENNIS
Ace- is a legal serve
 Baseline- far boundary on both sides of the court
 Lob- ball that is mostly hit high in the air
 Love- this means there is no points scored

