Previewing the text by Minding Your P’s & Q’s

Preview: What is inside?
Prior Knowledge: What do I already know about this topic?
Prediction: What do I think the author is trying to communicate?
Purpose: What do I want to get out of reading this text?

The strategy you just used to preview the text is called “Mind Your P’s and Q’s”.
By using “P’s and Q’s” at the start of a lesson or unit, you can enhance curiosity,
spark interest, and improve students’ comprehension of the content material.
Pretty impressive set of benefits for a strategy that is so quick and easy to use!
