Be sure to take home this newsletter, have discussions with your parent/guardian and plan together to attend open houses and the School Choice Fair (12/6/14; see left). These newsletters are also available at www.baltimorecityschools.org/233. Remember that admission to many BCPS high schools is based upon a composite score determined by your 7th grade final grades, and your 8th grade first quarter grades, TerraNova scores, and attendance. The timeline we expect from the Office of Enrollment, Choice and Transfers (ECT) for high school applications is that every student will receive his/her application and official composite scores by mid-November. Your completed application is due back to your school counselor by December 23, 2014. Parents and students, feel free to call or email us ([email protected], [email protected]) to schedule an appointment to discuss high school options. School assignment letters will be mailed to your homes by the Office of ECT on February 27, 2015. ~Ms. Bookman and Ms. Fonda BCPS High School Open House Dates Baltimore Polytechnic Institute Sunday, October 26 Thursday, November 6 www.bpi.edu 1:00-3:00 pm 6:00-8:00 pm Western High School (girls) Sunday, October 26 Tuesday, November 11 www.baltimorecityschools.org/407 3:00-5:00pm 6:00-8:00 pm Baltimore School for the Arts Saturday, October 11 Baltimore City College Thursday, October 16 Tuesday, November 25 www.bsfa.org 9:00am-12:00pm (last name A-L) 12:00-3:00pm (last name M-Z) www.baltimorecitycollege.us 6:00-8:00 pm 6:00-8:00pm Mergenthaler VoTech (Mervo) Monday, November 24 Wednesday, December 10 Saturday, December 13 www.mervo.org 5:30-7:30pm 5:30-7:30pm 9:00am-12:00pm Phone: (410) 396-6420 Fax : (410) 545 -6328 (main office) (410) 435 – 0483 E-mail: Daniel Hellerbach [email protected] Janet Fonda [email protected] Samantha Bookman [email protected] (OVER) Page 2 of 4 School Newsletter High School Open House Dates – continued Coppin Academy - Wednesday, October 22 6:00-8:00 pm Baltimore Design School www.baltimoredesignschool.com Saturday, October 18 10:00am-12:00pm Wednesday, November 12 6:00-8:00pm Shadowing City and Poly: Dates are already scheduled for large-group visits to City and Poly, called Preview Days.
