It’s that time of year again- get excited, SQI Masters is back for 2016!!
Welcome to the
17th Softball Queensland Masters Tournament!!!
5th-7th August 2016.
The SQ Masters Tournament website, www.sqmasters.softball.org.au and Facebook page will again
be used to keep participants up-to-date on the latest happenings. If you haven’t “liked” the Facebook
page, you can become a friend by searching ‘softball queensland masters tournament’ and clicking on
the ‘Like’ button.
Listed below are the details of the 2016 Softball Queensland Masters Tournament. Make sure you get

An initial payment of $315.00 is to be submitted with the Team Acceptance Form. A second payment
of $630.00 is to be paid when the Team List is submitted. These payments will be allocated towards a
total of 9 players’ registration fees. Team Co-ordinators MUST advise the names of the players the
fees are to be allocated to when submitting the team list. Teams will not be accepted unless both
payments are paid by the due date.

Refund Policy
No refunds will be given after the 1st of July, 2016. Registration fees can be transferred to a new
participant if a team member withdraws after that date. If the fee is not transferred, the person who
withdraws still receives their tournament pack.
Note: SQI orders and pays tournament expenses based on the team list information and therefore cannot
provide refunds after 1 July 2016.

Note: Team Co-ordinators are asked to please encourage your team members to pay their registration prior to
the tournament, preferably by the early bird cut off, to avoid a long wait at the registration desks on Friday
morning.
Conditions of Entry












Initial payment of $315.00 paid with Team Acceptance Form (payment allocated to 3 player
registrations).
Second payment of $630.00 paid with Team List form (payment allocated to 6 player
registrations).
All payments received by 5pm on June 3, 2016 are at the Early Bird rate.
All payments received after 5pm on June 3, 2016 are at the regular registration rate.
All payments made prior to and including July 1, 2016 are transferable and refundable.
Payments made after July 1, 2016 are transferable only, not refundable.
Any non-playing team official (that is Coach, Manager and Scorer) pays a reduced fee.
Teams MUST supply a minimum of 1 full time umpire (ie. available to umpire every day)
Each team member (including umpires) MUST sign in (register) prior to the first game in which
they participate.
All participants MUST abide by the SQI Codes of Ethic/Conduct and Zero Tolerance Policy. A
copy of these documents is available on the SQI website, www.qld.softball.org.au.
All teams must abide by the liquor licences of each venue and NO alcohol is to be brought
onto ANY venue.
Teams must supply their own Easton 888 (12”) game balls which must be of good quality.
These will be on sale at the registration desks and merchandise tent during the tournament.
Umpires







The tournament cannot go ahead if we don’t have enough competent umpires.
For a tournament to be successfully conducted, ideally 1½ umpires per team are needed.
Umpires must be listed on the original team list.
Acceptance of team entry is conditional upon the team supplying an umpire who is available to
umpire every day of the tournament. The nominated team umpire MUST be competent in
umpiring both as a plate and base umpire, at least for the division that their team is playing in.
If needed, teams will be penalised for failure to provide an umpire for any allocated timeslot.
No participation fee is required for umpires registered with SQI.
Umpires not registered with SQI must pay an event fee of $30.00.
Umpire Uniform:
 All accredited umpires are required to wear their official umpiring uniform
 All non-accredited umpires, or team members performing umpiring duties, are required to
wear a light blue polo shirt with dark trousers.
