SoCal Survival, Teacher: Tess Berry Living in Southern California is awesome! There is access to diverse plants, animals, geography, and climates. SoCal Survival is a fun and educational class for both boys and girls. Survival training isn’t just for hardcore survivalists on reality television! This will be a semester of learning about how to use the common tools and supplies we have access to in order to enjoy adventures in Southern California. Some of the skills and learning will include how to create a packing list for outdoor adventures, basic survival skills, mental training, some physical training, and how to use materials around you to your benefit. Web Design, Teacher: Britton Schron In this course, students will learn the basic elements of design, and how those elements affect perception. They will review vital software, including Adobe InDesign CS3, Adobe Illustrator CS3, and Adobe Photoshop CS3. The course will start with InDesign, and how to work with text and set up a document, how to work with frames, and the use of color. Then, students will be introduced to Illustrator, including how to create text and gradients, drawing and composing an illustration, transforming and distorting objects, and how to work with layers.
